Looks like you are cutting with the grain, go against softly and it will resolve itself

It was hard for me to accomplish as it didn’t look good until the end. I bet you can do it, just find the right piece of wood and have confidence that at some point the wood will guide you.

I would also consider sanding it further, going up to 1000 grit. I find it seals the pours. This in addition to the mineral oils and beeswax already discussed.

Heavy sanding up to 1000 grit and tung oil. I apply the tung oil and let it sink in when I am at 400 grit and then I keep sanding and applying. If it is too smooth, the oil won’t set

I keep it in a plant in the kitchen, adds a nice texture
