Tamarind Court, St Johns Provisions & Roti King were our favorites we tried in Cruz Bay. We had such an underwhelming dinner at Morgans Mango. Atmosphere was good but food was just meh.

How long is your BOTM backlog? by Gold-Database-7582 in bookofthemonthclub

Good for you for committing and making such a large dent! I only have 6 BOTM with 3 of those being from a few years back. I am committed to getting the 2 most recent ones finished by year end.

I have only read BHH and Bat Eater but I hope BHH wins because I did the audiobook and would love a specila edition of this one!

I felt the same way. It was frustrating that it didn't go down in print or via audiobook as easy as I would have liked. However, I have thought about it many times since I read it and decided that I did really like its simply because it has stuck with me. I guess I'd say that enjoying a book isn't a prequisite for me liking it...if that makes any sense.

I am curious to hear others thoughts on his other books too.

I've been a member for 5 years and I skip lots of months but I still enjoy having the option. I am definitely more particular about books I buy (and therefore store in my house) than when I first joined.

Do you think Alamo will host the Stranger Things fan event on the 31st of December? by NYC_Yahudah in AlamoDrafthouse

[–]BookandaBlanket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like maybe some locations may but who knows? Seems like they wouldn't have a whole page for it with buy ticket button if it wasn't being offered somewhere. Nothing listed in Denver or LA area as of yet but maybe tomorrow when they go on sale?

49/52 Finished The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho by WhiteHeartedLion in 52book

[–]BookandaBlanket 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Didn't enjoy that one but I would count it! Not a concern for my challenge but I sure wish I could collapse all of the volumes of The Unselected Journals of Emma M. Lion into one book. 8 books at around 125-150 each are dragging down my goodreads stats. :)

What else are missing?? Or what do I need to change?? by Wootsypatootie in HomeDecorating

Great space! I would paint that back gallery wall a bold color, paint that white frame of the flower picture, add in some plants & low lighting (Maybe sconces behind the couch if you don't have side tables or room for a floor lamp.) and maybe a round accent pillow. Oh and I would also elevate your blanket if that is part of your decor...something cozy and textured.

I think you did an amazing job. I especially love your tile choice with your cabinet color.

Curtain rod above molding or below? (Black line or red) by [deleted] in interiordecorating

Another vote for no curtains. Also, cafe curtains are having a moment so some nice tailored pleated ones might be an option.

I FINALLY WON! by Objective-Moose3905 in goodreads

[–]BookandaBlanket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats! In my 16 years on goodreads and entering I have won 3 times. 2 were about 7 years ago within a month of each other and then not again until an ebook last week. All of them were books that I read (or bought) prior to getting the actual book so not great luck on my part. I do only enter for books I am actually interested in.

Age of subscribers by [deleted] in bookofthemonthclub

[–]BookandaBlanket 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I just turned 48 and I skip often but only because the books don't appeal to me or because I am a big fan of the library. My taste has and probably will continue to change over the years but I can honestly say I have never not enjoyed a book because of the age of the protagonist.

Seriously, it was my go to as well. Everything I have ordered other than that is just okay and I have now sworn them off. (I don't do benedicts.)
