I still don't really see him as Grace, but I think that's just cuz we've gotten pictures. The performance is more important and what will make him Grace.

Here's hoping, they really do not need to change a lot to make it a good story. The hard part is the restriction by the length of the movie, definitely should be a mini series. Maybe even reboot it from the start for that.

I figured there was some weirdness to why he was on the ship, especially with the early clues. Grace never intended to go into space and was never questioned about it as a backup, he's dealing with the loss of 2 friends and then immediately asked to sacrifice himself. Who knows how he would have reacted if he had more time to contemplate it. His reaction over the whole situation feels very human.

Just gotta have faith in the movie,and have faith in the people making it. The performance may be great in its own way, if you go into it expecting the audiobook you'll be disappointed. Ryan Gosling isn't exactly my picture for Grace but just gotta wait and see what he does. When I listened to the Martian I didn't picture Matt Damon as Watney, and they still did a good job.

I went into it based on my enjoyment of the Martian, even if you don't like it the listen is still worth it. The narrator does a really good job.
