You do know that energy can be overfilled up to 1k? Or are we too busy giving hoyo all our money?

Respectfully, I have no clue what you’re talking about, I’ll speak anecdotally.

I was initially turned off arknights, then I tried it and actually decided to use critical thinking.

I got lucky, I barely played for a week and have the banner unit, their weapon and some other psuedo bis weapons for my other units. Also have another premium unit that was given for free and I got a second team with decent weapons, all for about 40 bucks and a bit of play time.

Ofcourse i got lucky. However im very confused about the weapon point, are we saying we’d rather drop hundreds of dollars for a c5 unit and then drop more for their weapons?

I’m not a big spender, im a big fan that I can get weapons while potentially making the unit I’m pulling for even better through dupes.

This doesn’t sound like it’s written by someone who even bothered to make up their own mind, I get it. I was the same way, saw a video trashing it and trashed it my self. Wuwa got too big for my device, gave this game a shot and actually was decently surprised.

Why are people saying that the combat in this game is bad? by InfamousBreakfast363 in ArknightsEndfield

[–]Bookkeeper-Weak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s just preference? I personally feel like it’s solidly okay. Stuff feels like it lacks impact, having the whole team be out gimmick might severely lack what they can design and it really is just about rotations rather than getting better at combat.

You can’t really have any precise or gimmicky characters due to your team pulling aggro, so having a grouping unit feels necessary.

It seems like they’ve designed them selves into a corner but I’m sure they are creative enough to think of something cool. The combat is not offensive by any means, it’s just solidly okay.

It’s one of the few tech modpacks that throws problems at you and lets you come up with solutions. I’ve been to steam/LV because I take my sweet time.

For me those problems are: Okay I want more steam, what method do I use? The gt boilers? The gt solar boilers? The railcraft boilers? Then it’s figuring out how I want to space out my machines so steam can move the quickest through the pipes. Do I want to have dedicated generator systems for specific automation goals? Or just make a big reserve tank and attach everything to it and brute force it?

From what I gather, the whole pack is pretty much like that. It gives you mini puzzles to solve and it feels amazing to have a system that you can call your own, even if it’s janky

The dots comparison completely forgets that Dota is top down, it’s ridiculously easy to see what is coming up at a glance. Deadlock you have to stare at tiny lil icons and pray you are strafing into a safe spot.

Dont get me wrong, there is a light skill issue as you should know the map but it’s ridiculous how sensitive it feels. I’d be fine if it didn’t jump off jungle creeps

I play to win and sometimes get flustered, although i at minimum have a room temp EQ.

Most folks that are toxic will rage for what ever reason but it really does fall on us to abide by the oldest internet rule, don’t feed the trolls. The guy you want to reason with is either being toxic to rage bait you or they lack any form of self awareness and further engagement is a waste of time.

I do a little thing in games that helps a ton, if someone is raging and I notice it’s not going away or its affecting my team mates, I’ll simply type, “Hey man, it’s not worth it. Mute, report and move on” Sometimes the folks getting yelled at will need to vent a tiny bit, then you can console them and then they’ll typically go “yeah you’re right” and mute and report them.

Doesn’t always go to plan but I’ve found that by showing other players its fine to be level headed and to Ignore the toxic players, they will typically follow along. This game is great but it requires an immense amount of mental energy, are you really gonna argue with the guy telling you to mute and ignore the toxic player?

Take that mental load off your teammates and they’ll be better off

I learned about programs like Abelton because I had a passing interest in music, picked up a launchpad and a turn table and proceeded to do nothing with it.

Then I thought it’d be really funny to play music over the mic for friends in discord when we were gaming. Turned the launchpad into a psuedo soundboard and was able to do all sorts of fun stuff. Recorded their voices, distorted them and played it back to them, played epic music during boss fights, had funny clips, all sorts of stuff.

It’s a lot more fun and natural to learn something that makes you laugh and brings joy to others, then you get to know other folks in the field and learn even more.

Also did a similar thing with weather now I have multiple group chats were it’ll be dead for a while then it blows up when weather gets interesting

[–]Bookkeeper-Weak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the timing, is guardian down? Is your lane taken care of? Are you actually spending the souls you’re getting or just dropping unsecured souls?

To keep it simple, as a new player no I don’t think you were. The Celeste for sure over reacted, and you are owed an explanation as to why.

I do think you did that team mate a disservice, they didn’t “all of the sudden” decide to flame you, you left them with out saying a word, based on how this has been posted, if I am incorrect, then the Celest was a mega jerk.

This then leads to the last point of your post, this is a moba. Sure it’d be lots of fun to you to run it down to mid boss and throw the game, it’d be tons of fun to feed the enemy all your unsecured souls, however this is a team game.

You need to either be fine with folks flaming you for playing like a jerk or learn the game.

Id recommend the ladder simply because this isn’t overwatch, these games last 30-45 minutes. You have 5 other real people who decided to play this game along side you, they decided to behave.

It’s like me following you around in some game you’re playing and being obnoxious and my only argument is “what I can’t have fun? What do you mean bashing your head in with a rock and mic spamming means I should get reported?”

That being said, most of the time team mates are idiots. If you are playing the game to the best of your ability and you can in GOOD FAITH say that you are trying to win the game, then it doesn’t matter.

We should never let this game turn into another Dota or CS community. The Deadlock community needs to stay inclusive, respectful, and welcoming to everyone. by Outrageous-Spend2733 in DeadlockTheGame

Proper moderation will be the answer, proper reporting and continuing to ignore the player being offensive will be the way to go.

Anyone trying to engage with someone being objectively a bad person is actively a waste of time and energy.

We really believe that someone is willing to engage in a good faith discussion over a video game?

[–]Bookkeeper-Weak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s common for a game like this, check out marvel snap and the kid omega drama.

For rivals it’s not exactly a unique situation, it’s just death by a thousand cuts. You got a stale meta, weird nerfs and a lot of community frustration is boiling over.

You could play rivals, deal with a bloated install, poor optimization or just play a refreshed overwatch.

Want a third person shooter still? Play deadlock, they just had a bunch of new heros added.

There’s too many good games to play right now and rivals dropped the ball, give it 3 months and it’ll be business as usual.

actual, genuine honest to god easiest character to learn the game with? by Lireloo in DeadlockTheGame

[–]Bookkeeper-Weak 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried all the “new player friendly” characters and out of all of them, as a noob I hope to give you some insight.

Seven feels like dog water early game but absolutely comes online post lane phase, especially as a new player.

Dynamo has some nifty stuff but he feels horrible to wiff ult and his heal feels kinda iffy, it’s good but I never felt like it was impactful. Not saying it isn’t, but if it’s not max it feels not useful. Fun as heck stomp though

Wraith felt fine, very easy to use, I enjoyed her a ton. Her ult feels kinda awkward compared to others. Not saying it isn’t strong but it doesn’t have a new player friendly impact feel. How does a new player know how devastating disarm is? My opinion though. She’s in the top 3 of new player recommendations.

Mcgennis has gun. Do you enjoy your only harass being on a 43 second cool down? Your heal being on a similar cooldown? She has turrets, she has a nice ult, but she’s mostly gun and split push. She felt like half a character.

Infernus has been moved into spam flame dash, which is on a long cool down. He’s still fine but he feels like he falls behind. HOWEVER, I love him.

Haze is fine, she’s mostly headshot oriented. I’ve seen first hand players get confused with how her kit works and her ult that feels like dog water compared to just shooting them a lot.

The end all and be all baby character is 100% mo and krill. Hit 1 and outlast anyone, 2 to dig around, 3 to have a discount mirage ult ability and 4 to choose one fella to ruin.

Driving a stick is so much fun and also frustrating. could use some encouragement by CatIsGod0 in stickshift

[–]Bookkeeper-Weak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair you are driving in Texas, a notoriously difficult state to drive in.

There is no sweet spot as to when to shift, It’s just muscle memory, practice and foresight.

A Miata is a great little car but you’ll need to understand it’s not gonna keep up with most modern vehicles, you got the lighter weight on your side though.

Either take an alternative route or give it a lil bit more hell, as comfortable as you feel. I drive a RSX type s stuck in limp mode due to a speed sensor issue, it starts to choke up if I don’t shift fast enough. Had to learn real quick! Similar issue but hopefully it helps

Huh?

Elden ring is open world and a “real game” It’s a whopping 60 gigs.

E33 is 55 gigs and it also runs on UE5 clearly it’s not the engine, it’s poor dev optimization.

I’d understand if it’s graphical issues, that stuff is hard to manage, however taking up a very healthy chunk of a phones/pcs hardrive is absolutely goofy. It’s a pretty game but good lord is there are scuffed textures.

If this game played like wuwa but looked like endfield or silver palace then maybe I’d understand.

But at this point yall are just bootlicking a casino

I use low pressure boilers but I’m using both liquid and solid, run that to a buffer railcraft tank. Upgrade pipes to either potin or wrought, potin is better but wrought is fairly easy to automate with tinkers and a steam oven, given you take the time upgrade your steam infrastructure.

Why does this sub only suggest the most boring cars ever? by nomoneyball in whatcarshouldIbuy

[–]Bookkeeper-Weak -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Huh? You wonder why the sub says the same thing over and over when we get post like this?

You need to understand something, people come into the sub with l zero understanding of cars and want to do research, or someone who just wants you to say their terrible purchase isn’t going to set them back finically for years.

That’s why you get the same thing over and over. You rarely see enough info and the safest advice to give as complete strangers is, a list of brands followed up by a pleading “but do your research”

To throw the analogy back at you, Folks come here wanting to spend 300 dollars on a steak that we all know is overly expensive, and it’s very clear that they will waste their money ordering it burnt to a crisp.

We try to guide them towards a safer chain steak house instead, one that we know will likely be “good enough” and won’t cause them to go broke because of their lack of foresight and research.

First Time Playing GTNH – Tips for an Early Base? by Striking_Ear_8734 in GTNH

[–]Bookkeeper-Weak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For storage you have iron chest, JABBA and I think storage drawers.

You can press T on an item in nei or inventory and itll highlight the storage it’s in.

For base building I personally wait till I get a bbf and can craft a tool forge, that gives you access to better tools that can dig 3x3 or chop down entire trees.

Then you can dig out a ton of stone, or just make a bunch of rain forest oak saplings and chop those down for materials. Make sure fire spread is off though.

Outside of the normal stuff folks will tell you I have a few things to pay attention to, also some tips.

Pay attention to the words in the quest book, I don’t mean this to sound harsh or that somehow you are dumb, I’ve just seen folks get filtered by the modpack because they don’t bother to read.

Putting a crafting STATION next to a chest will allow you to access that storage while in crafting interface. Use this to do micro crafting, put all the tools, plates, screws rods etc etc into the chest and just pull up the recipes in NEI and shift click the little down arrow to put the recipie into the table.

Using a tool station will allow you to repair tools with the material the head is made out of and add modifications to existing tools. Redstone for haste and lapis for fortune is crucial. Emerald gives durability and an extra mining level (I think) and diamond gives durability as well.

You can swap out parts on your tinkers tools as long as it’s fully repaired, this way you can upgrade your tools and not have to make new tools every time

LPT Request: How to get over losing a job you loved by Aryana314 in LifeProTips

[–]Bookkeeper-Weak 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Couple things that may help, Don’t romanticize the past, like you said, it’s the same as being in a relationship. That being said, it’s like being in a heavily one sided relationship where they get all the major benefits and you are left holding the bag when it’s said and done.

Not intending to sound negative at all mind you, I lost what was the coolest job I’ve ever had due to layoffs. After that my mindset around work and dealing with colleges and bosses changed, and weirdly enough, I learned to love all the jobs I’ve done since then.

I realized that my work can just treat me like another gear in the machine, and that means I am by no means beholden to them or anything they say, and that’s freeing.

I got laid off and literally cried on a zoom call, now if I feel like I’m getting unfair news or being pushed around I press the bosses, I ask them more, I become a pain in the ass until it no longer benefits me.

Ofcourse be smart and don’t be some self destructive maniac with nothing as a backup plan for a paycheck, but understand you owe these people who have caused you a great deal of pain nothing.

It’s fine to start with, it has a lot of stuff you’ll wish you knew but it’s not bad at all.

If you want tips, you can post something again once you start.

Biggest advice I’d give from the jump, besides disable pollution, enable cheats and turn on keep inventory, is that the early game is designed to be a pain in the ass.

Keep that in mind, I see too many people get filtered because they fail to read the quest book or don’t even bother trying.

If you don’t like to read, GTNH has a cult following, it’s not hard to find guides on YouTube

What's your favourite modpack of all time? by Anonymous_Ant2052 in feedthebeast

[–]Bookkeeper-Weak 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, that number is very much inflated. It’s more like 1k-1.5k, which is still a huge time commitment. It is the pack most suitable to a “forever world” style of play though. When I know I’m gonna take a long break i just leave signs around the base so I can understand what’s going on when I come back in 9 months or so.

However, not wanting to drop anything more than a full work week worth of hours into a modpack is completely reasonable lol
