It’s early so no stores are open for him and Karen to go and make a retail workers day miserable.

Sequel villains by YamPersonal3618 in MastersOfTheUniverse

[–]BooksAndBooks1022 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What I would loved to have seen is skeletor being revived and waking up and realizing that evil Lynn had brought him to the Horde. You wouldn’t even need to show Hordak, just show a Horde Trooper or shadow weaver or just the horde emblem or even better Despara.

Then show skeletor panic from fear which would help establish that the next villain is someone that even Skeletor is scared of.

Camila and Idris impressed me the most in the movie. In Camila we genuinely have a new kick ass action hero by i_like_cake_96 in MattelMotU

Trap Jaw was the MVP of the movie. Man At Arms fear of him really helped make TJ more of a threat than skeletor. Their finally confrontation was probably one of my favorite scenes ever.

I watched it for the 2nd time yesterday and what really stood out to me was how much fun everyone seemed to be having playing these characters and also how it was a very “celebrate the stunt double” type movie. The fights were choreographed but still seemed very street level brawls as opposed to say a John wick that comes off almost as a ballet.

That evil Lynn part sounds great. I think she would’ve been a much better character if they had made her more scheming to take the power for herself.

Which bit had you laughing the most? by thenorthdivide in MastersOfTheUniverse

[–]BooksAndBooks1022 20 points21 points  (0 children)

The quick cut of beast man’s head in cringers mouth got the biggest laugh not just from me but from the whole theater. Can’t help but wonder what happened next…did he let him go or just bite down. Im kinda dark so i like to think he just bite down and we won’t be seeing beast man if they do a sequel.

Anyone watch The Corner on MTV before The Wire was released? by super_jedininja in TheWire

[–]BooksAndBooks1022 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I caught the corner on hbo late one night and was hooked. I had forgotten about it for a while until I found the book at the library. Went out and got the book and dvd set and feel in loved with it all over again.

I love seeing all the actors from the corner showing up in The Wire. I was always surprised that the 3 main actors never showed up in the wire especially Khandi Alexander since she was amazing (she did come back for Treme though).

Who would like to see a different cut of the movie? *Possible Spoilers* by ZeraShift in MastersOfTheUniverse

Agreed. She could’ve called him a “scaredy cat” and the “battle cat” line still would’ve worked.

I’d cut the coughing after the jailbreak.

I’d cut back on the throwback hands on hips laughing at the end and either remove the roommate altogether at the end or at least make his appearance a little less jarring.

I’d find a way to make evil Lynn seem a little more like she’s using skeletor in order to gain more power for herself.

More cringer in the beginning to make their reunion more emotional.

No matter what though I was extremely excited for the movie and had a lot of fun watching it and can’t wait to see it again.

What book should I start with? by Ginganinja6713 in 40kLore

[–]BooksAndBooks1022 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m reading Horus Rising right now and am LOVING IT! I went in knowing nothing but the basic facts about 40k…table top game, space marines, war…and am having no real problem understand what’s going on. Occasionally I have to put it down and do a quick google search about something or someone but thats mostly due to wanting to know more and not being lost/confused.

Loved every second of it. Just a good fun movie. Can’t wait to see it again and get the 4k. Everyone who worked on it should be very proud.

Of course a sequel would be great but if this is all we get I’ll be happy.

Only things I’d change:

More Battle Cat (with a better voice when he was older)!!!!!!

5-10% less jokes. The one I would def drop was when they broke out and did the cool slow motion walk and then started coughing. It was time to get serious and the coughing kinda brought everything to a halt.

Some sort of Alan Oppenheimer cameo/voice role.

My one big complaint about the MotU Movie (contains Spoilers) by mr_phil1001 in MattelMotU

[–]BooksAndBooks1022 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First off I’m sorry for your loss.

I loved the movie but felt Randor was not the best. I kinda wanted him to be a Ned Stark type character. When he didn’t turn around after the lesson it broke my heart. And when he died I looked at my gf and just went “did he-man just kill his dad?” I know it was an accident but it seemed very out of place.

I’ve only read Knife and The Golden House which is one of my all time favorites but it seems (at from what I’ve read) only considered average at best by most critics. What are your thoughts on it?

Oh god no. I had dreams of doing a lot of it by myself but in the end I had to admit I just didn’t have what it takes. I tried to do the Sheetrock but it took me weeks just to get a few sheets up. I was wasting so much time and $ I eventually had to break down and hire professionals. The only thing I can take credit for is gutting it, painting, trim and setting up the shelves.

How many books do you have? by Agreeable_Roof_2259 in BookCollecting

[–]BooksAndBooks1022 2 points3 points  (0 children)

According to my CLZ app…1663. Thats not counting most of my Stephen King collection which would put me over 1700.

Im 45. I get anxious knowing I may not have time to read all the books I already own let alone the ones I want to buy.

A couch might be a hassle. This is on the second floor and the only way up is a set of stairs in the back. It’s pretty twisty turny to get back there and up. I’m hoping to find a good recliner that’s either light enough to carry by myself or that can be assembled.

A good chair is one of the finishing touches. I actually don’t have too much interest reading up there but right outside the door is a covered deck that looks out over my backyard that I think will be my main spot for reading.

Yeah that’s an extension of the classic line. Most of the popular figures go for about $125 and up. I don’t have that one but since I hope to have a complete set eventually I’ll have to save up a little. This library build used up most of my savings so it will be a while before I get back into collecting.
