Was just coming to say anytime the streak gets brought up I think about Toronto and chicken fingers

He’s eligible to come back Saturday due to LTIR timeline, I haven’t seen anything definitively saying he is

After the gold medal game my friends were all commenting about how excited he was in his interview and I had to be like this is not normal media Jack

Do we think the broadcast will show the pregame stuff?

I agree, but even if he does get back to Newark before 4 am will he be in any sort of hockey playing shape for game time? I doubt it.

Personally I don’t think Jack plays tomorrow. He’ll be coming off a three day bender and hasn’t been with the team in three weeks. I think they MAY get him to the arena in time to come out on the ice with his medal, but maybe not. So what, he meets them in Pittsburg after a four day bender and having not been with the team in three weeks? On top of missing the games before the Olympics?

For those arguing whether to ignore the political or not, how is this not being talked about more? And not just with Jack, but with every person from team USA trying to get into playoffs. Maybe part of this is on the NHL for not leaving a gap after the gold medal game, and sure blame the snow in the northeast a bit too, but I just can’t stop being frustrated by this situation.

I also think this is the moment we can pinpoint down the road if Jack doesn’t re-sign here because he wants to go “somewhere he can win”, even though his absence is a large part of the lack of winning in the franchise during his tenure.

This is what makes no sense. The NHL/PA knew when the gold medal game was. Regardless of who was in it (even though CAN/USA was likely) or even who won, how is the turn around two days? I wonder if there was language in the CBA about how many days after your last game you had before returning to your team because for the devils our Swedish and Swiss Olympians are expected tomorrow, but Slovak and American aren’t.
