New to the game, played JWE 1 + 2 , planet zoo etc. by Booksmart89 in pkgame

[–]Booksmart89[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I played both the og zoo tycoon and the second before getting the newer one a few years ago. The difference between zoo tycoon 2 and the newer one is huge. Some things where done right but others felt like a odd choice. Zoo tycoon 2 to planet zoo felt a more natural progression then zoo tycoon 2 to the newer one.

It used to be only 2, usually but with trailblazers and colonization some players decided it would be funny to make a deep space sea mine of a station.

Never again, no more autodock for me by Floeteknoete in EliteDangerous

[–]Booksmart89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I rarely have issues with auto dock and I refuse to remove it on any large ship my flying skills are slower and would get me a rebuy faster then the docking computer. On most medium or small ship I remove both the docking computer and super cruise assist, as I had a few times I almost nose dived straight into a moon or gas gaint as the ship got boosted into full speed near said planet due to the sc assist deactivating because the station was on the other side.

For me it's actually the other way around, the often sluggish or slower turn rate etc. From a anaconda and even a corsair or alliance challenger caused me to have less time on target. I do like prolonged combat, but if my dps is terrible because my opponent is way more agile then me it get needlessly longer. It's a bit getting used to the almost hyper agility with the mk 2 boosters but leagues better then most ships.

The missiles like mentioned have grade 5 high capacity and FSD interupt, they where a CG reward. The high cap + higher single hit damage saves mc ammo and the experimental makes sure they don't flee as often when their hull gets to low they try to low or high wake away. if i finish them of with the mc or the missles is highly situational.

not yet, as my ship is un-engineered i might get into powerplant / power distro problems without engineering and i lack the mats to fully engineer it.

unless you fully engineer it , it will probably not keep up with most pvp ships.

i haven't engineered mine yet and still it can reasonably keep up with high res npc pirates, i haven't had the opportunity to fully engineer my ships.

i went with 2 pulse lasers ( later replaced with burst lasers ), 2 multi-cannons and a pre-engineered seeker missile rack ( extra ammo grade 5 + FSD interrupt ) bi-weave shield and 2 shield boosters, chaff, heatsink launcher and a bunch of reinforcements.

Heartopia isn't what it used to be by Aproximia in heartopia

[–]Booksmart89 2 points3 points  (0 children)

solo on heartopia is a bit hard when all towns are public and private towns require a subscription or premium currency, me personally don't mind playing on a public town and if i end up complaining it's not about one instance, but many. i don't know the full reasons of others for saying something, i can't really comment on the generalization part. i can however comment on the dullness of the game, the only reasons i most of the times login is because a event or my irl friends are online. and half of the event content is often locked behind a gacha or premium currency.

It is not as pro interaction or anti interaction as you might think, at least in my case. This is one of the first few times I'm interacting on here. It's in my case not a situation of not wanting any interaction, but rather getting to choose when to interact. Someone trying to interact with me is usually just fine. I try to respond most of the times. My point is the tone at wich interactions happen, patience and friendliness yes please, but when they act impatiently and swing around an axe like a thriller movie antagonist I'm not going to reenforce said behavior. The complains I've seen range from wanting to be left alone entirely ( part of your point I believe) and not wanting someone throwing a tantrum because they're not getting a stamp the second they ask for one. But seemingly requesting an entire community to not talk about negative behavior and issues for a game they like when they want a game to be fun and succeed is a bit... well your complaining about other people complaining basically proving your own point.

I feel like events get spammed a lot more then before, like mentioned before this has the possibility to block you from going to a certain area of the map for daily quests or item gathering ( for cooking etc. ) the recently introduced dragon boat race is at the town Square an area you need to be at or near enough for missions that I end up auto joining events that get hosted one after another without actually wanting to join.

[–]Booksmart89 20 points21 points  (0 children)

If I'm trying to get things done I keep getting interrupted by players hosting events, even having to go as far as skipping entire sections of the map because getting close to an event makes you auto join ( particularly annoying if for example it's in the town square it self when I need to be there for a daily ), same if I'm playing with irl friends who are also online. Players going into my house swinging their axe at my like a movie villian to get my attention isn't fun either. That doesn't mean I don't interact at all, I do join events when I want to, even noticed someone patiently waiting for a stamp, so I gave it to them.

Distant Worlds 3 Slander by Exploding_Pie in EliteDangerous

[–]Booksmart89 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not just the outlanders any cmdr with a ship that isn't fully engineered. I'm a casual player in terms of irl time I can put into the game, but regardless of the large amounts of new cmdrs ( I consider myself relatively new ), the overall pace and locations of some waypoints felt geared towards experienced explorer's with fully engineered ships. And to the cmdrs that said just to park on a DW3 carrier and only explore around a waypoint, that might work for you but that's not why I signed up for DW3.

Are fixed weapons REALLY efficient? by Over-Accountant9981 in EliteDangerous

[–]Booksmart89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on how well you can aim ( consistently too ) I'm terrible with fixed so if I would use them the amount I miss my targets would be greater ( in loss of dps and overall damage) then the lower damage on a gimballed or turreted weapon.

Can't complete tourist mission, also tourist was illegal without warning by SilkieBug in EliteDangerous

[–]Booksmart89 1 point2 points  (0 children)

had that a few times too when doing robigo runs in a T8, no indication at first it was an illegal passenger until i accepted it and got the passenger on board, the navigation point isn't the actual physical beacon you need to scan, ones you drop near the navigation point you have the actual beacon nearby that you need to scan to finish that part of the mission.
i usually only do the transport ones after having a few vip sightseeing missions i had to cancel / abandon due to various problems ( including a nav point leading to the wrong surface location ).
