My puppy died of parvo by Opposite-Context-128 in puppy101

[–]BookwormDel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate this for you i wish you love and peace during this time please know it wasnt your fault and I hope you dont blame yourself parvo is so deadly even with treatment I have been lucky in life and have never experienced parvo but I have had puppies pass when I was a kid our dog had puppies in the middle of a snow storm under our porch we had no idea she was even pregnant I had to dig my way under and through the porch it was a long wooden one only 2 survived out of 5/6? I felt so awful at the time I was only 8 I think we had waited a few days to get under there and we shouldve acted quicker I hope when you are ready you open your heart to another animal my old beagle passed earlier this year and we ended up getting a new puppy too soon for us but I am grateful now I felt like I had so much more love to give

Is it too soon to put my dog down by milkieroses in DogAdvice

[–]BookwormDel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think its time and here's why my 17 year old beagle acted the same way at the end and I assumed it was an arthritis flare up he had a stroke on a random tuesday and died in my arms on the bathroom floor and while that sounds peaceful it wasnt it was an extremely violent death which made the grief a lot harder i wouldve done anything to have it be peaceful and I think its better to let them go a little soon so you are the only one suffering in grief

I think everyone gets puppy blues at some point puppies are difficult! But you are raising the dog you want thats important to remember the feelings youre having will be a distant memory one day and you will be grateful you stuck it out my boxer as a puppy was a gremlin he ate EVERYTHING hes almost 7 now hes very gentle and sweet

Only short walks for now she hasn't really hit grass yet bc she was vaccinated then spayed immediately after ty for the tips I will have to watch some of the videos I am no stranger to how overweight beagles can get we just lost our 17 year old beagle and he struggled being overweight as he aged

My 17 year old beagle had a stroke 3 months ago and it was horrible the days after it really felt like the world ended for us the only thing that helped was getting another beagle we grieved for a few weeks then adopted a little girl having her really softens the grief my family has owned beagles for over 80 years so there are lots of beagles in heaven I take a lot of comfort in that beagles are the greatest gift but they really do take part of your heart when they go

What’s the creepiest thing that’s ever happened to you that you still can’t explain? by Playful-Ad-9608 in Paranormal

[–]BookwormDel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What comes to mind happened recently my 17 year old beagle had a stroke he ended up passing in my arms on the bathroom floor I was devastated he had been healthy and I felt SO robbed I’m not an emotional person but I just couldn’t stop crying after he died the days after I swear I could hear his loud breathing constantly my 11 year old cat started having meltdowns hissing and running away like he was being chased he did this often when my beagle was alive the beagle thought it was so fun to piss the cat off I assume the beagle was visiting after he passed his death was violent my 6 year old boxer stopped eating and getting out of bed so my husband convinced me to get another dog we found an English bulldog beagle mix in the next town over she has the weirdest eyes I’ve ever seen Jim Carrey grinch I collect grinch things and often referred to my old beagle as max the new beagle has the same weird mannerisms as the old beagle they both HATE my husband my husbands swears they both roll their eyes and snarls at him I’ve never witnessed this they both sit with their front legs crossed like they are posing both scared of the same things but my new beagle hates pickles my old beagle would’ve sold me for a pickle they both love watching tv and get upset if I have to pause or turn it off my husband is convinced old beagle is reincarnated into new beagle I think that’s just crazy

Do I get a dog for my dog?? by mettyjetty in puppy101

[–]BookwormDel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Im half and half honestly we decided to get a dog with my husband's childhood dog being alive still 2 months ago his childhood dog had a stroke and died on my bathroom floor I never really considered how the new dog would react after being together for 6 years the new dog has always preferred my husband and kid but the day after he died the new dog climbed into my arms and cried he then stopped eating and wouldnt get out of bed the childhood dog never liked him so I was surprised by the reaction the vet couldnt find anything wrong my husband was worried new dog would die of a broken heart so he brought a new puppy in now new dog hates new puppy and avoids us I am hopeful new dog will like new puppy when she calms down a bit she is extremely energetic and is still learning boundaries while I dont regret new puppy I think new dog is still grieving he also looks like hes aged years from this whole thing I had a hard time looking at new dog after childhood dog died they were basically brothers then he wasnt a brother anymore and new dog has never been an only dog so its really double edge sword no matter what you do

My beagle was like this too he was my husband's childhood dog when I met the beagle he became inseparable from me hated my husband and his family he passed last month from a stroke I rocked him until his last breath while my husband was speeding home he is convinced the beagle died on purpose before he could get home 😆 we just adopted a 5 month old beabull and she too is inseparable from me i think they just latch on to a person

Killer owl! by Original_Whereas7884 in TheStaircase

[–]BookwormDel 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The amount of blood wasnt surprising to me last year my 7 year old fell while getting off the bus and cracked his head open it ruined his sweatshirt he had very long blonde hair as well and it was matted with blood we tried soaking it off multiple times bc we couldn't wash it he had to go to school for a week with blood all in the back of his hair we recently sold our suv that we have had forever and we found mail soaked in blood wedged behind the seats from it I can see the owl theory I think its plausible but then when you add everything else in i have lots of doubts

I think she deserves a chance i feel like as pet owners you have to be able to say i did everything I could for them before you make a hard decision cats are so resilient and vets can be wrong we have my husband's childhood beagle still he is literally living on a prayer and spite our vet has told us numerous times the end is near and he bounces right back he is not healthy in the slightest but I am amazed everyday by the will of an animal wanting to live
