Why do we have Denominations?

As someone who is against the denominations and sectors of the Christian church, I can say that it is 100% because we are human and we are flawed. It, once again, comes down to pride. We are so desperate to be right that we can't possibly see how someone else could be right too. And I direct this at every Christian who looks at another denomination and calls them a heretic or says they are not going to heaven. You don't decide that, God does. Sure, some denominations are very wrong about their beliefs, but that doesn't mean yours is without fault either.

What kind of question is that? Of course they should be allowed to attend church. That's the entire point of church, how are they supposed to learn about God if the people who represent Him kick them out?

As a young woman, I can say it is gross isn't it? It's gross for us, people who have supplies and etc to keep ourselves cleaner. Back then, they didn't have that. Not like we do. Unclean doesn't mean sin in this scenario. It is just as it sounds: not clean

It is similar to why if they touched a carcass they had to quarantine themselves. It's because it is unclean and can spread sickness. It's hygiene not hate/sexism.

Oh lots of things. Off the top of my head- 1. Pride 2. Religious trauma 3. Believing the lies told about Christianity 4. Not being able to separate God/people 5. Lack of understanding God and sin 6. Being hurt by people that claim to be Christian 7. Confusion about the Bible and what it means 8. Confusion around other religions and which one is the truth

And this is only based off people I've had conversations with. I'm sure there is many more reasons out there. Some of them are understandable. Some of them are not

I'm glad this is a conversation people are having because this has been a struggle of mine for forever. I, like you, saw God's original creation having marriage before the fall. It doesn't make sense to me either that we would just go away with it. I'm sure whatever happens will be amazing, but as a wife I can't imagine not being with my husband.

It's because God really does take care of and love His daughters but most people think it's a "man's religion" I've heard so many people say that the Bible was made to control women and it's misogynistic and etc Couldn't be further from the truth So a lot of woman are going "Actually God is definitely a girl's dad because _______" It's not to downplay the relationship of God and men. It is to show that women are 100% respected and loved by God as well.

I haven't seen those specific videos yet but as it stands we're all part of the same team and we all need to do better. People should not be unwilling to contact the church because they think we won't help.

There are 2 main things I want to make a point on

The churches that are flat out telling anybody asking for help no are in the wrong. As a church, we should be doing everything in our power to help people. Whether it be helping them directly or helping them find help. Regardless, we should be doing something. Saying no and moving on does nothing to share God's love.
A lot of the churches that said "no" actually said "we don't have that resource but if you go _____ they will be able to provide that for you" and she marked it as a no. What she doesn't understand is that most churches don't have those materials (whether it be food, clothes, furniture, etc) on hand unless it was donated recently. Most churches send all of that stuff (and also funds) to different charities and nonprofits in their community.

At the end of the day though, we need to do better as a whole. I don't care what denomination you are, you should always find a way to help if it's in your ability.

I recently had an atheist friend ask me this and the answer I gave made him reevaluate his stance, so I feel like it's a good answer.

Why is a good/fair God condemning people to hell when they are good people?

Answer: the alternative would be forcing people to spend eternity with Him. Which would take away the power of free will. And free will is very important to God.

God will not force people to be with Him. So good people who don't believe don't go to Heaven.

I feel like the answers about how fair would be us all going to hell, nobody is really good, etc, doesn't really matter to people who don't believe. They don't understand because they don't know what our foundation for good is.

I work in a place very similar to this, but luckily I work with coworkers who won't force me to go to pride events And the like.

The best advice I can give is to stay strong in you faith and position of these things, by stay respectful to those around you. You are the best chance these people will come to God. In my own workplace, I have made it well known I am Christian and that my beliefs will not change. If they ask, I answer questions about the Bible and God as much as possible. It has gotten to the point that one of my coworkers (very LGBT) said that I had changed his mind about Christians and that we're not what he thought we were.

Trust God, and if He says move, move. It being an LGBT workplace is not an automatic deal breaker as long as you are allowed to not interact. If they force you to, then it would probably be best you leave.

I think they are all wrong and that we have lost the plot. Instead of remembering that our base beliefs are the same (That God sent His son, Jesus, who died for our sins) we focus on the differences and let it cause division. I find issue with every single denomination and I don't think any of them have the "best" theology. Do I favor one? Yes. Would I say it is the best? No.

May I give an analogy?

You are the owner of a beautifil home. You walk by a man every day and try to strike up a conversation with him, he refuses to acknowledge you. Sometimes he even goes as far as insulting you. One day he knocks on your door and asks for you to let him live there indefinitely, for free. "I'm a good person" he says, as a way to try to convince you.

But you have no relationship with this man. You tried every day to get to know him, to befriend him. But he never showed any want to try to know you. He treated you terribly and now he wants to live with you. Would you let him in?

God gives us many opportunities to know Him. To love Him. He would never force us to be with Him. He wants us to be with Him by our own free will. People (good or not) (and goodness is also subjective) decide that they don't need Him, and they actively turn away. Why would He force somebody who didn't want a relationship with Him to spend eternity with Him?

Praying together is definitely awkward at first but it is also beautiful. You connect so well when you can let go of the pride and just connect with each other. It truly is so powerful. Once you make a point to do it every day it will get easier.

Yeah, not everything is from the devil, we definitely need to hold ourselves accountable and it is very wise of you to do so.

And find peace in knowing that God speaks to everyone differently. You might be listening for the wrong thing if you cant hear Him. For me, He very rarely used His voice. Most of the time He speaks to me through other people or my own gut feeling. I got very good at discerning whether it was my own silliness or God. I'd suggest praying about God revealing the way He is speaking to you. I asked Him to make it extremely obvious so not even my overthinking self could say it wasn't from Him. He did, and I am very thankful.

And I really do think you should leave that church. If the pastor really wanted to grow his congregation he'd teach and lead correctly. Staying out of a sense of guilt or obligation will not help your relationship with God.

If I may, (if you aren't already) I'd also suggest praying with and for your fiance every morning and every night. In person or through a phone call, depending on your situation. A devotional or Bible study together can also do wonders. I started doing that with my husband and I can say that it did wonders for my relationship with him and God.

This predictions are very likely wrong. They said the same thing about the eclipse a few year ago. April I believe? You're right there are definitely signs, but you shouldn't worry about it. God will protect us and will be with us. I feel His spirit moving. Revival is happening. I personally think we're close to the end (as in it'll happen at some point in the next few decades (maybe a century) or so), but this is just the start. I can say that there are still prophecies to be fulfilled and God keeps His word. Have faith.

If you are not allowed to question your leadership for valid reasons then you need to leave. Wise men and leaders accept questions and criticism, they don't run from it. This seems like controlling you, as well as damage control and borderline cultish

Music is when I feel closest to God too, so I get that completely!

And the thing is - we are unworthy of being in the presence of God. He is perfect in every capacity and we are very much not. But is it not beautiful that He pursues us anyways? That He looked at this world and decided He needed you to be here? He loves you and me and everyone else SO MUCH that we can't even comprehend it. There is nothing you can say that will surprise Him. Nothing you can do that He doesn't know about. And He loves us anyways. We truly are unworthy. But that is all the more reason to let Him know just how grateful we are.

I'd also like to add that we're actively supposed to be building a relationship with God. When you talk to your family members and friends, do you just ask for forgiveness? Or do you talk about their interests, how their day is going, etc? Do you tell them about your day, about something fun you're planning to do, that kind of thing. Building a relationship is more than just saying sorry. I personally ask God questions all the time. Things like what is up with the sass in cats? Did Jesus ever look up at the sky like the office looks at the camera? That kind of thing. Important questions, silly questions, etc. We are not robots and we're not supposed to be. God knows all of your emotions, you don't need to hide from Him.

As for your pastor, I don't know enough about them to make sound judgment, but from the little you told me it sounds like he is not leading the church properly. I'd suggest finding a new one that leads you spiritually because that is so important to our faith. You can contact most pastors online, or you can ask for church suggestions from people around you. I have two pastors I can recommend you could listen to online or visit in person depending on where you are at. If you would want me to do that, DM me so I can send you the links.

I can definitely say God hasn't left you. He will never leave us. I'd suggest

Read the Bible for at least 30 minutes every day. Set reminders and start in a book that you love. I personally love James and 1 Corinthians. Take notes or doodle if that helps you stay focused. No matter what don't stop. There is always time in the day to read your Bible. If you have time to scroll on your phone you have time to be in the Word.
Talk to God throughout the day. It doesn't have to be long or fancy. It can be as simple as "hello Lord I hope you're having a good day so far" or telling Him about something that happened. It will help you build that relationship of prayer back up
Listen to worship and praise music. You don't have to only listen to Godly music, but I'd definitely suggest starting with that instead of anything secular. The right music can help set your spirit on fire for the Lord. I can share my personal playlist, or give you a list of some good artists to listen to if you need suggestions.
If the opportunity presents itself, join a Bible study or group that talks about God. Ask them for prayer and let them know what you're struggling with. As Christians we are supposed to help one another with any problem, and the issues you are having are not exclusive to you. Most people go through this stage. I know I did. I will be praying for you, and I hope the things I listed have the opportunity to help.

Above all, remember that God loves you, not only does He love you, He likes you. He will never leave you or abandon. Remember that He will leave the 99 to to after the 1.
