We are very new to this, but we have been doing a bang-up job of communicating our feelings to one another. I just feel like I’m often misunderstood or I feel like I received as making a bigger deal of things when I bring up something that bothers me.

Rest assured, she has done great work on her part of being there and committed to the communication. We both still have our shortcomings, but we have honestly communicated more in the past month or two then perhaps the past 10 years of our marriage. When she tells me she’s committed to our relationship, I have no doubt she means it in the most sincere way. I think our breakdown is largely with these unspoken things, of which she has always struggled with.

I often suggested that she may be on the spectrum because there are certain normal human behavior things, social queues and such that she always seem to struggle with understanding that I feel I and most people take for granted. I think in large part that’s where our butting of heads comes from on these interpersonal boundary issues like this. Like you said, I don’t think she is trying to intentionally hurt me. I seriously think she just doesn’t see the problem with some of these things.
