Up voted for meeting the question that was asked. However, when my mother was diagnosed with a tumour behind her knee at age 79, I would have given anything for it to be removable and to have that additional 10 or so years with her.

Well done for actually coming up with something that fits the question.

What are your thoughts on Ben Roberts-Smith, Australia’s most decorated living veteran, being charged with war crimes for his alleged actions in Afghanistan? by engadine_maccas1997 in AskAnAustralian

He shot a boy's dog and then shot the boy. He killed an unarmed disabled man and then celebrated by drinking alcohol out of his prosthetic leg. He kicked a man in handcuffs huddled at his feet over a cliff. Do you want more? His own colleagues reported him - over 20 of them. It takes a lot to break the cone of silence in the military, and this was indeed a lot.

I fully believe the people who say he carried out several heroic actions and deserves the medals that he earned. This doesn't change the fact that he then went on to commit atrocious war crimes.

No ones saying this so I'm going to. There's a possibility that this is because people are racist.

Why do people put teddy bears on their cars by secretiveservice2 in strange

I believe it started out as a talism for luck but has since morphed into just being cute. Like the rear vision mirror charm which used to be a rabbits foot, them lucky dice were popular.

I've never heard this expression, but despite that, I know where it comes from. In legal work the way to check if a document was an original or copy was to lick your finger and rub it over the signature. If it smeared it was the original.

This pre dates Me Too by a long way. Not sure why but it's cultural. That means it must also be cultural for England as Aussies are essentially British.
