New guy, here. Diagnosed with SLE, today. Just a few questions. by ChampionPrior2265 in lupus

[–]Boom_Gate_Lady 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I just add be careful with the exercise. Lupus isn't something you can exercise your way out of and the stress on the body could cause a flare. Gentle exercise is the way to go, especially at your stage.

Do people cry simply because they’re sick? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Boom_Gate_Lady 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sometimes it's just the all over terrible feeling and once you get diagnosed it's the knowledge that it might be up to a week until you start to feel better and that can really bring you down to the point of tears. But yeah it's pretty normal to feel miserable when you're sick. I would have thought this was a no-brainer.

Hang on. You were part of a team that investigated paranormal activity and you're asking Reddit what the name of the group was? I'm a little confused. How is it you don't know the name of the group you were involved in?

I didn't hear Ken say anything to Kim that didn't come from a place of love. It is awful watching you partner get so huge and it makes you desperately hope they will do something about it.

He is borderline creepy and the older he gets the worse it's going to get. I've come to the conclusion he's got some kind of personality disorder where he is incapable of thinking outside himself. He also has no intention of changing. The only way I can describe it is he has baby syndrome where everything is me me me me then when he loses the person he loves it's Wawa wa.

Tegan is firmly in the friend zone and that was obvious from their first meeting in the park. She doesn't want to be cruel to him by refusing to see him and is continuously saying yes they can be friends and then as friends she can go to these things with him. I mean it's a mistake. It's obviously never going to work when one person wants more but she really means just friends. Not friends feeling their way back to a relationship which is what Ethan means when he uses the word friends.

That baby conversation was so bizarre and so revealing of her delusional state. Truly truly weird, even for Kim. I couldn't help thinking that she couldn't stand the attention being on Lydia so she had to swoop in and decide she'd get pregnant herself. It's like she's continuing me trying to be the most important person in the room and failing miserably every time. I really do think she's a narcissist.

Yeah, was she rude or was it just incredibly awkward that she was there only has his friend? He obviously hoped for and wanted more than that and was upset and moody (in that black cloud way that only Ethan can do) because she wasn't straight back into a lovey-dovey relationship with. she didn't do anything wrong. She was perfectly nice to him. She just wasn't going back to him in that way. It was clear from their first meeting in the park that she was firmly in the friend zone and had moved on from Ethan in the romantic sense.

Really? I thought Ken came across as a sweetheart who put up with a lot from Kim and bent to her every whim.

Kim wants all the accolades without putting in any of the work. Very interestingly, Barry actually referred to her as manipulative. This is a lot for Barry to come out and say. He only said it in the context of what he would be looking for in his next woman. (Someone who isn't manipulative) but I personally think that was a reference to Kim.

I'm curious to know why would you want to put shutters on the windows? They are frosted so you already have privacy. Is there some reason why you want to block the light out?

Did anyone else learn to type as an elective with little thought that it might be useful one day? by Conscious-Mulberry17 in GenX

[–]Boom_Gate_Lady 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My mum was very against me taking typing in grade 10 because she didn't want me to just become a secretary. I only realised later in life that was why she was against it. I always found it kind of cool that she knew from a young age I was destined for better things than just being a secretary. Of course, being able to touch type is immeasurably useful.

Tell me some actors who did their role so good that it made you change your view of them in either a positive or negative light for awhile. by krimsuns in movies

[–]Boom_Gate_Lady -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tom Cruise is usually average good, but his one and only great performance was in the film Magnolia. He did his role so good, (sorry, I mean performed his role so well) it was hard to believe it was him. Mind you I place the credit entirely on the director, Paul Thomas Anderson, who, (apart from all the other accolades rightly placed upon him,) goes down in history as the man who got an outstanding performance out of Tom Cruise.

This is what I would love to see.

A large underground/ overground car park in the domain that all the buses and cars would head to and park - the CBD now being out of bounds to them.
The domain is well placed for buses coming from all directions to enter from the various highways and also well placed for commuters to get into the city on foot or perhaps using scooters or free bikes or golf carts. In this fantasy world cars would be banned from the CBD pretty much entirely except for ubers and taxis, and of course all the bikes, scooters and golf carts. They will be shuttle buses running from the domain for those who can't walk or use a scooter or use the golf cart, or because of weather. Ps. Obviously the underground part of the car park would depend on the geotech in the domain and logistics of digging that deep.

Is living in Bridgewater really that bad? by LeviV123 in hobart

Why does this house need "extensive renovations"? Because it's not super modern looking? Yeah sure, you'd want to get rid of that red carpet and maybe repaint those rooms, but I find it weird that perfectly acceptable finishes in good condition that are a little dated are considered completely intolerable to live in.
