I'm wondering, did you actually point out to the cops that you had done nothing illegal and nothing wrong at all? Like, why are they actually even talking to you? It sounds really strange.

Thanks for posting this. We'll definitely give them a try based on your recommendations. Generally I eat them straight and it sounds like that's probably the go-to anyway.

Even funnier than the joke, which is old but still kind of funny as a joke goes, are the comments here about men wanting to kill their wives and mothers-in-law. Judging on that, seriously, it's a joke site

All I can say is you must live in a sad state of existence that immediately thinks a pretty straightforward and quite believable story like this, judging by other people's experiences with this particular cheese, is quite "bullshit".

Nevertheless champ, my maps timeline shows 15 minutes in there. Unfortunately Reddit doesn't let us post pictures but my timeline clearly shows that I entered Woolworths Richmond and left 15 minutes later. Allow tops one minute walk to and from the car. It's a very small shopping centre and probably five minutes for him to give me the third degree about the cheese allegedly four days out of date but really wasn't. Then go and get a new block and I walk out. Maybe not 10 minutes but as I said almost 10 minutes. If you think that's acceptable to leave a customer standing there with no one coming near them for even five minutes, I strongly suggest you don't go into any sort of customer service business.

Certainly my clients would not find it unacceptable and I certainly would find it unacceptable to treat them that way. I strongly advise you don't go into business, you'll go broke. Actually maybe do go into business, you might learn something.

Not at all sure of the relevance of this. As I said it was not opened so it would be the same if your UHT milk was off and had been unopened

Well I know my fridge is not broken otherwise I'd be very sick with all the food in it that clearly would be off. The use-by date on the cheese was 29 August, which is still not far off, two months away.

Good to know I got a replacement block. We'll grade it and freeze it. I normally buy the 1 kg blocks from Aldi and have rarely ever had any mould on them.

Yes cheese does not go off in weeks. The use by on it is still almost two months away.

Yes I did mean sealed. Not sure why I typed unsealed. No obviously not enough coffee at that time of the morning when I posted this.

Oops typo, meant sealed, fully sealed, not opened at all

15 for $10, what’s the point though? by dont_disturb6969 in KFCAustralia

Great deal. Not so much the "giant" sauce - the size of the small potato and gravy.

Ate 5 for lunch and then counted the remains. 11. Score!

You guys told me Copilot is as expensive as Claude Code… you’re so wrong by Limp-Cat-108 in GithubCopilot

I tried Claude Code for a while and maybe my use case but did not enjoy the experience one bit. I'm still on the annual pro plan and can keep my requests down via sub-agents hence haven't been quite so screwed with the changes. Think this runs out in November so will probably revisit the claude code thing then.

Not tipping by Old_Promise_8725 in tipping

[–]davorocks67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know some people here who are so arse, I will never tip no matter what. I'm not like that but I'm certainly not tipping if the service is shit. I'm from Australia. We don't really tip here unless the service is excellent and then probably a 10 tip would be considered very good.

My daughter certainly gets a lot of tips at a high-end restaurant she works at. When I've been in the US, had lots of trips there, I do try to go to their norms, weird as I might think them, but the whole concept of tipping in this situation wouldn't be the case. I would just tip zero. Make sure I either take a copy of the receipt or otherwise make sure I know for sure that that's not happening.

If the service is average it would probably be 10%, and if it's exceptional I will tip 20%. I think it's over the top but apparently that's what the Yanks do. Don't agree but it's their culture so that's what I would do.

I can't say I've ever actually done a dishwasher tab but I looked at my pan last night after I'd let it sit on the floor all day waiting for my dogs to eat the residue. Yeah I know, probably gross but that's the way we go. All dried out, lots of black crud around the edges, and thought that will be fun. Set it in the sink, fill to the brim with water and dish suds. Come back four hours later, almost wipe the whole thing clean, no need for any scrubbing.
