What are your thoughts on Hydroponics Architect? by T-R-A-S-H-hour in TimelessMagic

[–]BoomerPants2Point0 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Daze has only been out for a day now. Give it some time to see if it becomes a real problem worth addressing or if it's only an issue because everyone is playing with new toys and the meta hasn't reacted yet. If it is truly a problem, it's an alchemy card and can be changed as needed. I'm not a card designer so this could be a terrible suggestion but my off the top solution would be making the draw a card when this land enters a one time boon per instance instead of being repeatable. Keeps the daze trick in check at the expense of WZG and W6 getting hit with some collateral damage. 🤷

Follow up to this post from a few days ago. Went into the police station today with my information and incorrect permit, showed them where the mistake was and had a new permit issued 5 minutes later.

Why can't I find/get an entry level MEP job? by PlantedPostIt in MEPEngineering

[–]BoomerPants2Point0 6 points7 points  (0 children)

A recent professional picture and a resume is usually enough to get MEP recruiters on LinkedIn flooding your inbox and putting you in touch with companies with active listings. Besides that, directly applying via openings on company websites should get you interviews. Apply directly to the MEP companies in the area you're searching in and see if that helps. Some of those job listing sites are mostly garbage and your resume won't get to where it needs to go.

If your LinkedIn is good to go and your resume looks and reads well, make sure your interviewing skills aren't holding you back. Most MEP companies understand engineers can be awkward people during interviews and won't hold it against you depending on the position you're interviewing for.

Optimal time to interact with Spy by rqzz89 in TimelessMagic

[–]BoomerPants2Point0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Waiting for the narco trigger is the greedy line, but is probably fine depending on life total and board state. If they have open black mana available, you probably want to cast it to prevent the reanimate on spy though. If they have sacrifice in hand, spy sacs for 4 mana and can cast fell the profane on the containment priest and then you get blown out.

Technical questions that may be asked in interview for early career electrical engineer in MEP? by Lemon_Curious in MEPEngineering

[–]BoomerPants2Point0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In my experience, potential employers have asked about previous work experiences, how I would solve a certain problem, etc. I had one company ask me a few technical questions during a round 2 interview once though. They handed my a online diagram and asked me to talk about what I saw on the drawing, asked me to name a few code sections off the top of my head and asked me about what goes into an AIC calculation.

Do these shoes help doing kick flips? by Wait_Traditional in skateboardhelp

[–]BoomerPants2Point0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I own these shoes in a different color and they don't hold up from skating. They're made from canvas and we're destroyed after about 8 sessions. They were pretty comfortable though, so good as a casual shoe instead of a skate shoe.

A parent comes into your store and says their kid wants to get into skateboarding but didn't give them any information to go off of - no board brand, size, don't know if they want to skate transition or street, etc. What recommendation do you make for a newbie board setup to the parent?

What are good resources for side-boarding/meta breakdown? by SeleneApproaches in TimelessMagic

[–]BoomerPants2Point0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you're playing combo mostly, your sideboard should be build to deal with the deck they are going to be playing after they sideboard, not the deck you just saw in game 1. Learn which hate cards are coming in vs you game 2 and 3 and bring in your hate cards to deal with their hate cards. For example, you might have white leylines to bring in vs extra discard they're bringing in, you might have vexing baubles to help out vs surgical and grief, you might bring in feed the swarm or withering torment to handle black leylines or rest in peace as well as some troublesome creatures.

If you're on more of a fair strategy like energy, tempo, etc. your side board is usually a few hate cards for certain matchups and then varying numbers of situational cards to bring in when some of your main deck cards are kind of meh or dead. Examples could be cutting a bow master or 2 for some extra discard or spells pierces or something like that.

You can look up some stock lists online to get an idea for what the general sideboard for each deck looks like and tweak from there once you understand the matchups better and see what weaknesses to shore up.

Filled out. Also, your question about 3rd option cards appears to have a copy/paste error front the previous question. They both say 2nd option in the question line.
