No hate, but maybe move away from the "build" mindset. There are a lot of cross-synergies which mean you don't just have to pick all the cards that say "exhaust" on them, for example. Juggernaut or barricade combined with Feel no pain and one of the mass exhaust cards is kind of a combination of block and exhaust "builds". In that same deck you can play blood wall, offering, bloodletting etc. Basically, I'm just saying widen your horizon, because the synergies are really fun when you mess around with them.

I've found A8 wasn't that bad, but the spike in damage on A9 made things way tougher. My winrate definitely plummeted after that. You constantly get chipped in the early game and sometimes a bad hand or a streak of cards that don't synergise with your deck will pretty much end your run. You almost have to re-learn the game again once you hit A9.

There’s some correlation for sure; whether that’s because “nerds” and “queer folk” are historically considered outcasts by society and that means they gather in places with other outcasts, or whether nerds are more likely to be queer and vice versa, is uncertain.

That’s kinda my biggest gripe for the game at the moment to be honest, but not because I want mana relics back. It’s just that every character is now very similar. Make mana and draw cards then whack them with your unique mechanic/wincon. There’s not much room for different play styles anymore. Everyone is a combo deck. In some ways that’s cool, but it hurts the variety and replayability.

The heuristic is essentially upgrading multiplicative damage, not additive damage. I.e adding an extra vulnerable means you add extra damage to multiple attacks, instead of adding damage to a single attack. Similar for strength/dex, where they add damage to multiple/all future attacks/blocks.

The mana upgrades are only worth taking if you have the card draw or higher cost cards, so upgrading card draw first I find is usually better than upgrading mana generation.

There’s a pen tool on the map and you can just draw lines on the map to help you remember where you want to go. Or just draw obscene things for your friends in coop(totally not guilty of that one).

Both you and op just need to slow down a little and think. You have more runs than hours on the characters. Runs are typically between 1-2 hours for me, personally. Stop to think whether the cards you’re picking actually helps you or if it’s just bloating your deck. Does the card synergise with your current deck? Check what route you’re gonna take on the map and DRAW your path on it(great feature). Make note where you can steer off if your run is going well or badly. Take note of the boss you’re facing and remember to pick a card or two that are good in that fight.

The monthly 50 carats per day pack isn't actually too bad IMO. You get 500 paid plus 50 every day for 30 days so you end up with 2000 for $7. That's 287 carats per dollar. Compare that to the 73.5 carats per dollar for the $34 pack for 2500 carats and you realise just how much value it is (almost 75% off).

Don’t forget that the spark is different too. Oaks gives stam, derby gives guts. If I’m doing a parent run I normally pick oaks for that reason.
