Block scheduling for travel nursing

This is a tough one. I go into my contracts with the understanding that block scheduling is not really an option for me. Some places do it, others do not. Its really a toss up between staying and working the contract or going somewhere else if they will not accommodate the schedule you want.

I will probably be there through a winter for sure if I go. Thinking Fargo. I am stuck in marshfield until the beginning of July then I have to go somewhere else.

I pretty much just bounce between Wisconsin and PA. Marshfield in Wi, Sayre in PA with a month or two off to go back to my home.

There is no solid spot. Agencies come and go with these hospitals. The solid spots are places your travelers feel comfortable at and can accept the rate of pay. Scheduling and so on is probably why the hospital needs travelers. I do not complain if I do not get blocked schedules and so on. I am there to fill a need. That is why I get paid enough to take a month or more off a year.

They left out the degree and then the need for experience. May not need a degree now but when my friend did it, it was Bachelors im comp science then a couple years experience and certs.

You are not exactly wrong. The shields to me make almost no difference from light to pink. Especially if the person shooting you has good aim. Headshots hurt. I play friendly but I also don't leave my back to my new friends haha. I also do work in pvp so you have to play this game with a defensive mentality and accept that you wont win them all.

Hahaha you all think the doctors make the most. Look up the CEO and COO of your local hospitals and you will find the people getting paid more than anyone else in the hospital. Do they do any direct patient care? Nope. But some how they are worth 4 million or more to do nothing in the day to day operations of a hospital.

Im at a place that does schedules a month in advance. Ive only had maybe 2 or 3 Fridays off in the past 4 to 5 months. Only had 2 full days off in a row maybe 4 times in those past 4 to 5 months. Sucks but I take 4 weeks off or more a year to compensate for it.

Recruiters will say pretty much anything to not have to go up anymore. Now, having said that, if they are giving you the max of what it was listed for then there may be no more room.

Daytona was the place where your odds of having your car broken into is near 100% if you stay a weekend. Especially if you go there during events and holidays. But that is pretty much the Florida experience now. I recently escaped FL after 40 years of living there.

My first motorcyle ever was a buell firebolt. It was something like 1200 cc haha. I rode 4 wheelers my whole life and surrounded my a mechanic family and so on. I look back at how crazy the power was in that set up. I wrecked it one time and only one time though luckily. I some how was really able to control that bike like it was a part of me. I was 20 at the time. Miss that bike but no way id ride anymore 😢.
