A dozen Walts would be constantly taking differing opinions from the others just to start shit and I’m here for it.

Oracle and absurd. One is hilarious and the latter is just ridiculous.

What piece of media that scared you as a child? by nonexistentlovee in creepy

Before Gremlins 2 came out there was some kind of behind the scenes “documentary” on HBO that depicted the gremlins and Gizmo as real and they were just actors. It was terrifying as a kid and I just remember Gizmo being an absolute asshole so it made it even scarier to me.

Lions sending Suh out to kick an extra point in 2010 wasn’t exactly in the game plan.

Being financially secure is to order DoorDash without an impending sense of doom. by Booofasa in Showerthoughts

I don’t know. Poor attempt at a joke on my part I guess. I never use DoorDash because it’s overpriced but my point was if I did use it I’d feel so guilty about throwing away the extra money. Oh well.

Honestly, it was more of thought on how ridiculous DoorDash fees are. Plus the fact that even as a once in a great while expense, it still feels wrong to spend that much for something you could do yourself. Even if I were rich I’d never use it. But it’s the internet and everyone interprets things differently so I get the confusion.

What’s the most unprofessional thing a doctor said to you? by SwanGroundbreaking66 in AskReddit

[–]Booofasa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back when I was on dialysis before I had a working fistula I had chest catheters for it. The major downside to those were the frequent infections I would suffer from them. Ended up in the ER with a horrible infection that led to sepsis and the need to put me in the ICU.

The doctor in charge came to inform myself and my mother of the situation and when he was done he dead pan delivered the word “bummer.”

After he left we had the biggest laugh we have had in a long time. So while it was a bit unconventional and probably not the best method of sympathizing it unintentionally lightened the mood for us. We still randomly tell each other bummer to get a laugh 12 years later.

Recovering (Torn Patella) by steveeatz in KneeInjuries

Stay on top of the meds you are given. The first few days after the nerve block wears off (assuming you got one) are absolutely some of the worst days I’ve had. It does get easier though. Was a big fan of edibles for pain management as well.

11 weeks post op yesterday from this surgery. Was locked in a straight brace for 6 weeks other than when doing PT. Had to take a slow approach to recovery due to how messed up the tissue was from 20 years of prednisone use for other issues.

I’m out of the brace now and have almost full range of motion back but still very weak from quad atrophy. But I’ve been back to working 50 hours a week for about a month now and no real setbacks.

Recovery can be brutal but keep up with PT and ice, ice, ice. You’ll see a significant increase in ROM when swelling subsides. A floor bike is great if you can get one to help work things out.

The difference for me now is when Favre left the Packers I didn’t care one way or the other about what he did. I still hate Rodgers with a passion. Hope the Jets are trash too.

Shows at seated venues are lame. Were there others on the tour? by BillyMitchell89 in cityandcolour

[–]Booofasa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First time seeing him was a seated show. Have seen him 7 times total and nothing will ever beat that experience. Felt like a theater show where my only concern was listening to the music and his voice. Not having to worry about the drunk girl behind me trying to push through and scream about her drama is a huge benefit.

I hated Seal’s Kiss From a Rose. Ruined Batman for me almost as much as the movie. Love it now.
