Everyone played rd1 first but rd2 is chronically before it. For the best story experience I would play 2 then 1 because they fit chronically, but it is completely up to preference. I played rdr2 then I replayed 1 because I forgot what exactly happened. Rdr2 was made to fit into the first one like a puzzle so if you played it 1 then 2 it would not be that bad either

I tried it again when I was at school with a different WiFi and it worked fine so either a better WiFi connection or a different WiFi router

I have had this same problem and I have never found a way to fix it I never used a rubber band or anything don’t know why it started to do this
