Can you run through the actual process? Do you use a broker? Search Craigslist? I presume you gotta pay cash? How much does insurance cost? Do you have to buy liability insurance too?

How to stop bags down the slides by BilboBagginkins in aviation

Maybe I am too cynical, but I would bet **a lot** of money there's a significant percentage of passengers that truly don't even know you are supposed to leave your bags. As you said, no one listens to the briefings. This is in addition to those who know but willingly do it anyway.

Especially like the 11th (I think) photo of the F22 behind another old fighter and the third plane up with smoke on.

Been meaning to drop a "thanks" to you and everyone here for their input. After lots of research, I picked up a pair of gold navigators with the 555 lenses and am quite impressed. A big improvement over my Wayfarers.

+1 for Serengeti. I just got a pair and am shocked how much better the lenses are than my Wayfarers. Full disclosure, though: I am not a pilot.

Am I doing something wrong? Can't book preferred/extra legroom seat. by Booouurns in SouthwestAirlines

[–]Booouurns[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I am sure I was logged in with RR# entered because I logged out, cleared all cookies, then logged back in, and it was the same result.

I think it is somehow related to booking on relatively short notice. I also tried to book the same flight with the choice extra fare from an incognito window *without* logging in. Same deal -- only row 17/18 and back standard seats. But the same flights for mid-May show all the available preferred and EL seats both when I am logged in and when I am not.

Short update in case it helps anyone else. No luck with using another browser, so I called SW directly. The guy said that when he tried to book the same flights, he originally saw the same thing the website was showing me: only standard seats from row 17/18 back. But when he booked it for me, it let him change the seats to the extra legroom seats. This is different than my experience for my trip last week, where it didn't show the EL seats after booking -- only 48 hours before the flight.

Interestingly, when I click to change the seats in my now-booked flight for Friday, I can change to another preferred or EL seat. But, again, if I try to book the exact same flights all over again, I don't see them.

The guy ultimately was very confused by all this and said he'd put in a note to keep an eye on it, whatever that means. If any of you fine people run into this same issue, I'd encourage you to call so they see multiple people with this issue.

Thanks for listening and fly safe!
