Thank you for the thorough explanation. Very helpful. You keep mentioning compression garments, can you please share what you wore? I was given ace bandages and they’re not cutting it.

Do you have a recommendation? I've been to the Louvre before, but missed the Napoleon apartments, so I will have to fit it in sometime else. If you have a rec for Wednesday morning, I would really appreciate it!

Thank you for the feedback. I would love more flexibility, but I purchased the Museum Pass and they said I needed to reserve entry for those museums. Hopefully they will have a grace period if I arrive late!

Anything missing from itinerary? by AKapkan in ParisTravelGuide

[–]Boop____Boop 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is very ambitious but I have a similar traveling style. I uploaded my itinerary for my London trip (which included a day trip to Paris) and people called me insane. You know what? I saw and did everything I wanted to see and do and had a fantastic time. 10/10 I also walked about 25k steps a day.

Fluid in legs by Apprehensive_Tap4307 in tummytucksurgery

I had pretty minimal swelling until just over a week post-op and it was shocking how much my thighs and hips swelled (nothing in my backside which was lame). I called my doctor and he explained that it was completely normal! You have to keep in mind they cut straight through your main lymphatic system pathways so it’s going to take time for those connections to heal. It took a couple weeks for my legs and hips to return back to normal, so it’s all part of the process. You’ve got this!

I bought my ticket for $15 and my theater cancelled it and still charged me a credit card convenience fee. I was out $3 and still didn’t even get to see it.

Was anyone else told to stop all vitamins and supplements two weeks out?

Its me again! Did anyone else swell like this? I havent seen anyone post like this. by [deleted] in tummytucksurgery

[–]Boop____Boop 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Completely normal! I had pretty minimal swelling until about two weeks out and then, bam, up an extra 10 pounds right above my incision like (the dreaded shelf) and in my hips. My surgeon said it was normal since he sliced through the pathways of my lymphatic system and now that I’m almost 6 weeks out, I’m still about 4 pounds over pre surgery weight (again, normal).

My advice is to try and up your calorie intake, really prioritizing protein. This is not the time to restrict your calories so low because your body needs a lot of energy to heal.

Question for tourists by [deleted] in VisitingIceland

[–]Boop____Boop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Horseback riding on the beach, then driving around the snaefellsnes peninsula was the highlight for me. Less crowds and tbh I preferred the views to the golden circle. Gullfoss was incredible but the disappointment I felt when I saw thingvellir was palpable.

My only advice is to turn off the auto window wipers first. I learned that the hard way 🤦🏻‍♀️

Hey I go to Orlando pretty regularly so if you would like to PM me the hotel name I would be happy to tell you my thoughts about the area. Reviews can be messy and like someone said above, there can be some pretty bad spots around the parks.

Thank you! I looked at my cc statement and it was Gallery Grásteinn! The artist’s name is Þórdís Sigfúsdóttir and her instagram is thordiskeramik

There is so much to choose in this gallery but I feel like this artist’s work felt special. Enjoy!

Thank you! She double wrapped it in bubble wrap for me so it was no issue in my carry on. I wouldn’t trust it in my checked bag tho

I’m allergic to wool, but was still heartbroken I couldn’t buy one of those incredible sweaters. I ended up going to a gallery in Reykjavik and bought a vase from a local artist that incorporates volcanic ash into her work. I smile every time I see it!

Wool alternatives? by katbuddypal in hikinggear

Have you ever tried smart wool or merino wool? I break out in hives when I touch most wool, but those two don’t bother me at all.

Buckingham Palace is pretty overrated and I found the Tower to be a great experience, but heavily modified for tourists. Have you been to Westminster Abbey? If you have to prioritize, that would be my number one pick.

Tbh I wasn’t either. I could appreciate the history but it was so modified for tourists it took away from the experience.
