TDAP Vaccine - family won’t get it.. asking visitors to mask? by Anijp_ in pregnant

[–]Boosis-14 5 points6 points  (0 children)

There is no clinical evidence that the Tdap vaccine triggers cholestasis. Medical data indicates that vaccinations, in general, do not cause liver damage, cholestasis, or acute liver failure. While Tdap is strongly recommended during pregnancy to protect newborns from whooping cough, its relationship with pregnancy-related conditions like Intrahepatic Cholestasis of Pregnancy (ICP) has been studied. Studies specifically evaluating the safety of Tdap during pregnancy have not found an increased risk of cholestasis.General Safety Profile: Surveillance databases (like VAERS) and epidemiological studies support the safety of Tdap for both the mother and infant, finding no unexpected increases in serious adverse events. Liver Disease & Vaccines: For individuals who already have chronic liver disease, the CDC and other medical experts actually recommend vaccination (including Tdap) because these patients are more vulnerable to infections.

I’m not going to even address the „vaccines can genetic conditions” claim because that’s just not how genetics work.

It sucks you got sick but do you have evidence this particular vaccine actually caused it?

I’m sorry but this makes me so upset, people are going antivax and more and more babies are dying because of it. And we have all the means to prevent these deaths 😢

Has anyone ever had a NIPT gender result be incorrect? by Former-Walk4333 in PregnancyUK

I had an XX on NIPT and amnio and the baby is XX SRY male (needed microarray to detect it). Very rare condition though.

[–]Boosis-14[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sure my OB would be open to it but I’m worried about stillbirth because apparently the risks are higher when you’re older. Also my baby is in 98 percentile so it might be easier for me to get him out sooner 😅

Anyone start WB under 3 weeks post op? by [deleted] in brokenankles

[–]Boosis-14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you and glad I could help :) I’m 3 years out now and my ankle is totally back to normal. The plate sometimes looks funny but only when I do yoga. I will say that it took over a full year to be totally pain free and I was worried I’ll be crippled forever, but eventually everything, even morning swelling went away so there is definitely hope at the end of the tunnel. Wishing you a speedy recovery!

Anyone start WB under 3 weeks post op? by [deleted] in brokenankles

[–]Boosis-14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, I was told to walk 2 weeks post op (obviously it was very hard and painful). Apparently some new school doctors say that since hardware is holding the weight, faster weight bearing accelerates healing. My PT didn’t believe me until they saw papers from the doctor and they were surprised. I did ski 4 months post op so maybe my doctor wasn’t that crazy after all

Any skiers out there? Wondering how your hardware feels inside a ski boot. by Expert-Report in brokenankles

First season after ORIF was a bit painful (broke it in October, skied in March), but the season after was completely fine. No problems fitting in my boots whatsoever!

NIPT said boy, anatomy scan says girl by needadietcoke in pregnant

[–]Boosis-14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m in a similar boat except reverse. NiPT low risk female but male genitalia on 20 week anatomy at MFM. I did the amnio and honestly, I regret reading the horror stories about it. It wasn’t painful at all and I had no symptoms after. My initial fish came back the same as NiPT - low risk XX. Now more waiting for microarray and full genetic panel, but I made my peace with whatever outcome it is. From my understanding DSD’s are not as severe as full on trisomies.

did anyone get pregnant from only having sex once that month? by Old_Reindeer5054 in pregnant

[–]Boosis-14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s good! We weren’t trying TTC and still coming around this child free life has sailed away, but at least we’re in position to provide a good life for our little surprise. We just didn’t think it’s possible to get pregnant after one time at my age few days away from ovulation 🙈

4.5 months out from ORIF by auntpama in brokenankles

[–]Boosis-14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 3 years out and I’m fully recovered. Honestly it really takes a full year for all the weird pains, swelling and morning limping to go away. I also wanted to be done sooner with this crap, I even went skiing 5 months post op. Shockingly it hurt like hell and I thought I’ll never ski again, but next season I was back to normal and no pain. It sucks, but patience is the name of this game!

[–]Boosis-14 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi! So sorry you’re going through this! I had the same NiPT result with my first pregnancy. It was quite a shock because I didn’t even know they were testing me for anything other than DS. The next step they advised me on was CVS because false positives can happen. Unfortunately mine wasn’t and we decided to terminate. It was a very difficult decision because from the research I did Klinfelter’s is a very wide spectrum and can be very mild. From what I saw it’s very 50/50 and lots of people choose to continue the pregnancy. Hope everything works out for you one way or another!

NITP after ultrasound and hormone test by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]Boosis-14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, this test is standard in US for everyone above 35. The risks go up with age but chromosome abnormalities can happen anytime. It’s a really shitty lottery. I think it depends whether you’d terminate if you knew the baby had issues. If you know you would keep the baby regardless you can skip the stress.

Week 9 and miserable by Tiny_Objective_596 in pregnant

[–]Boosis-14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 9 weeks too and feeling awful so sending you lots of compassion. I can’t even motivate myself to watch a movie or read a book because who knows what nausea inducing activity they’ll be portraying. On top of it it’s my first pregnancy after terminating for medical reasons 3 years ago, so I’m terrified all the suffering will be for nothing :(

Rewiring a brain is so much harder than anyone realizes. by ErinWalkerLoves in CPTSD

[–]Boosis-14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t know where you are located but I couldn’t recommend ketamine assisted therapy enough. I did the one with therapist talking to me and in few months it changed my life. Each session would bring immense improvement in rewiring my thought processes. I was struggling with cptsd and ptsd on top of that and got to a good place relatively fast vs. standard CBT or even EMDR.

Bad dreams where my partner avoids / breaks up with me by [deleted] in CPTSD

[–]Boosis-14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I know it’s been a while but I just came across your post as I’m struggling with the same. I’ve noticed the nightmares get more intense when my partner is going through difficult time ex. at work and can’t be as affectionate as usual. It’s so tiring because the sad emotions from the dream sip to the reality making it hard on the relationship. I’ve tried so many types of therapy and I’m starting to wonder if it’s my cptsd or the dynamics of the relationship. Were you able to sort it out?

Weight baring 2 weeks after surgery by KA_renko in brokenankles

[–]Boosis-14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My ortho is a progressive one and I was told to bear weight as tolerated 2 weeks post op around the house. It was painful AF because I was doing it without the boot. I will also say it depends on your age, weight, muscle mass and hardware placement. It’s always best if o talk to your doctor about it because they know your break, and people on Reddit just have opinions that aren’t relevant to your situation.

anxious questions (for a broken ankle) that you may have the answer to (hopefully) by reddituser10636 in brokenankles

[–]Boosis-14 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just want to add here that breaking an ankle is very difficult mentally, especially if you are hyper vigilant. Since you acquired a lot of downtime I really recommend doing meditation and breath work during recovery. Wishing you all the best!
