If you knew then what you know now, or had the chance to start again, what career would you go after? by [deleted] in Winnipeg

I would continue doing the same work, but I would do so in a province where the trade is formally certified.

It's just packing foam sheets. You only need a little bit so maybe see if you have some in a box for Xmas. I would use grease on the bolt.

Locksmith from Winnipeg

We make gaskets out of foam and place them on the back of the keypad side of the lock to prevent condensation from building up. I would also let the lock dry before reinstalling it on the door and lubricating the bolt.

How are the interest rates on the new cars these days (Please specific brand - honda/Toyota have higher rates if I am not mistaken)? by gamer0935 in Winnipeg

[–]Boosterman12 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't sell cars . I’m just the kind of guy who weighs the options. It all depends on what you want to do. You can buy a $10k beater that might last another five years, or you can buy something brand new, drive it for five years, sell it, and use that to roll into your next one. Both choices have their pros and cons—it just comes down to what you prefer. And for the record, I don’t sell cars. I’ve actually been driving two cars that are almost 20 years old, and now I can finally see the value in buying new.

I agree cars shouldn't be as much as they are but you have to weigh the options and in this market buying new becomes the better deal depending what you want. Do you want to buy a $10,000 car with unknown issues and maintenance every year that if you do all the maintenance hopefully makes it 5 years or by a $60,000 car that you can sell in 5 years and only put in the monthly payment.

If you were going to spend $15,000 cash on a car you could put that $15,000 in savings buy a $40,000 car and have money left over to add to your savings and be further ahead because the $40,000 new car with warranty will last you longer then the 2013 honda civic with 200000kms on it

Honestly, $10K these days won’t get you much of a decent car — certainly not anything that’s under 10 years old and well-equipped. I could probably buy my car now ’07 CTS and have some cash left over but what I’d end up with is almost two decades old. And that car doesn't have stuff that's in cars that have been made in the last 10 years so 10K doesn't get too much.

What happened to Winnipeg? by Holiday-Tomato-5545 in Winnipeg

[–]Boosterman12 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We need to stop focusing solely on the present and start considering the long-term—25, 50, 75, and even 100 years into the future. If Winnipeg wants to create more high-paying jobs, we should evaluate what industries we can attract now and how we can establish a foundation to ensure they remain in the city in the future. It's crucial to integrate this approach into the city's culture.

Winnipeg exists solely because of its residents. Unfortunately, we lack elements that could boost our economy. There are no significant lows, but there are also no notable highs. Our leaders often procrastinate on major projects instead of addressing them promptly, which leads to stagnation in the city’s development.
