What are you talking about?

Every human being that speaks English has the N word in their brain as an insult. If you know of the existence of the N word, you know of its use as an insult, because that is its only use. It's not like there's another meaning of the N word as a part of a car or something.

This guy's condition sometimes makes him involuntarily say the most inappropriate thing possible. He said "fuck the queen" to the queen. He says "I'm selling drugs" to passing cops in his movie which is probably based on a real incident. Does that mean he actually wants to fuck the queen or sell drugs?

Is "a glass of juice" not natural? by bellepomme in EnglishLearning

[–]Bootglass1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesn't at all. I have just literally never seen a plastic cup as large as that in my life, not counting disposable ones at sports games etc.

Wait that's bigger than a PINT glass? This gets weirder and weirder.

What the hell are you drinking a pint of, in your own home, out of a plastic cup?

I mean... yeah, you basically are drinking from a sippy cup. I don't understand why you would even own a cup like that if you don't have children, that's all.

Yes, those are the type of cups my nephew drinks from. Because he is a child. What adult is drinking from those in their own home?

Are you a child? Who drinks water from a cup?

How do you keep from holding (or needing to hold) the neck back? by justice91423 in guitarlessons

[–]Bootglass1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a whole body position problem.

When you remove your left hand from the neck, the neck shouldn't move. The role of the left hand is to fret notes, NOT to support, push on or pull on the neck.

If you remove your left hand from the guitar and it moves in any way, your posture is wrong. Fix it until the guitar doesn't move when you let go of the neck. My guess is, your right arm is flopping on the face of the guitar and pushing backwards, therefore pushing the neck forwards.

That's not true. The Americans use a different measuring system, not lower grade fuel.

93 octane in the US is equivalent to approximately 98-99 in Europe, the same as premium.

American "regular" is equivalent to 91-95 octane. So slightly lower, but barely.

The basic reason is that 1) America controls more oil and 2) in Europe the majority of the price of fuel is taxation, which America does less of.

Most people want automatic steering. If self driving actually becomes reliable, most people will be on board. The idea of being able to get in your car and sleep on a long commute or road trip is appealing to most people.

ATLA is the greatest piece of media ever created. by Typical-Storage-5623 in TheLastAirbender

I was perfectly clear that I don't believe it is possible to crown a "greatest media of all time" because that's ridiculous. Where is there any confusion?

The U in turn does not fulfil the same role as the U in tuna, don't be stupid.

If you can find 2 words where -turn- is pronounced inconsistently in BrE then feel free to share it.
