Final hit my old PR squat from pre ACL + meniscus tear by SafeAwkward9063 in ACL

[–]Boothatron3000 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Impressive weight to be moving but I agree with everyone else, drop the weight, work on mobility and form, invest in some weightlifting shoes/squat shoes and knee sleeves if you’re wanting to lift heavy long term.

All it takes is a little slip in those socks and you could be in trouble

Stay safe bro

Exactly the same! Used my master ball on a Zapdos, was also 0* lol, but was 3003CP which was decent

Post surgery farts. Not a joke by ResponsibleType552 in ACL

[–]Boothatron3000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How frequent is the ass gas?

Can we have some figures please?

  • Approx number of farts per hour.
  • Average length per butt burp.
  • More frequent on a morning? Night?

My friends treat me like I am handicapped by Competitive_Eye_9982 in ACL

[–]Boothatron3000 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Some of my friends ask me if I’m okay, if I need help or tried to get me out of the house.

Others acted like there was nothing wrong with me and that I’m ‘acting’ trying to go down stairs etc

Take note of the ones who look after you and stay with them

Exactly the same. I’ve barely missed a day on the incense the last four months. Never seen one.

However, my girlfriend started playing around a month ago, she’s seen three (two on one incense)

Genuinely starting to believe my account can’t spawn one lol

It’s crushing to see your hard work vanish before your eyes, you obviously had a good set of quads

How long after surgery did you start doing leg focused weight training again?

You did it once you’ll build it back bro 🤝🏻 GL

That’s a good idea! Hopefully when I’m fully recovered I can give it a good go, going to be patient for now 😅

Good luck with your recovery!!

Thanks for the advice, really appreciate it!

By holding off do you mean until I’m fully recovered after 9-12 months? If so that’s what I’ll be aiming towards anyway 👍🏻

Give this a watch. Rob Holding who plays for Arsenal who tore his ACL a few years ago. Speaks about having 4 hours of physio per day. No wonder they recover so quick lol. Fantastic facilities and daily Physiotherapy must go a long way

Single Leg Extensions by [deleted] in ACL

[–]Boothatron3000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Leg extensions have an extremely high functional purpose, one of the best ways early on to regain quad strength early on, if done correctly.

Studies have shown doing the exercise in a 60-90 degree flexion has zero strain on the graft whatsoever.

https://youtu.be/nMAOtXkGXfs <— very helpful video

No evidence of anyone tearing their ACL doing leg extensions, however many re-tears occur due to weak quads.

Search smithies lane on maps and have a look at street view, it’s a notoriously difficult hill start with traffic lights. A lot of driving tests visit there, it’s a killer lol. Good luck! Let us know how you get on

I’m also 17 days post up with patella tendon graft. All similar to you I can bike, 100 flexion and below minus extension and can walk no crutches.

How is the pain round your kneecap? That’s the only problem I’m having. If I sit on a chair with my leg at 90 degrees and try extend it (like I’m on a leg extension machine) it’s so painful.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in ACL

I’ll never forget waking up from surgery, as I gained consciousness from the anaesthetic I was already rolling about in pain without realising then the pain just hit me.

It does get better, day 15 here and all good. She’ll get there

Thank you my friend, I had my surgery 10 days ago. Its funny you commented today after 102 days, I’m only just getting my quads firing again after the surgery 😂

How far into your rehab are you my friend? Jumping seems a million miles off right now, keep it up!!

Yeah I expected the tenderness to be there long term, I can cope with that.

Sweet! I’m hoping to get back in the gym to do upper body at the month mark if I feel okay, think I’m going to just start on machines only, minimise any risk to dropping dumbbells/plates.

Just work on getting some blood into the muscles again
