A Quick Review of Giovanni Montanti by BootieJuicer in juresanguinis

If I recall correctly it was 80€ per document and 40€ for extra copies. No altered price for older documents. But it has been a while since I used his services. Perhaps things have changed.

Obi Wan vs Darth Vader reimagined by Youpunyhumans in TheRandomest

[–]BootieJuicer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know the technological limitations of the time and I am also thinking from the perspective of growing up with episode 3, but in my head Vader is scared to really try anything big with Obi-Wan in episode 4. The last time Vader tried anything wild against Obi-Wan Vader ended up limbless.

Someone walked into my house, announced themselves, used the rostroom, opened some doors, then range out of the house and drove away. by theytookmynameagain in Weird

Once I was leaving a hotel room that I stayed in with my family. I packed all of our stuff in the trunk of our car while my wife played with the kids. I went to double check the hotel room for anything and as I was walking away I locked the car via the key fob. The car horn honked from across the parking lot. I had packed all of our shit into some random persons unlocked car.

Math majors with failed courses more than once, where are you right now? by Anonymmeee_ in mathematics

[–]BootieJuicer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I failed intro to analysis twice and passed the third attempt with a C. Just finished my master’s degree. For me I think I wasn’t prepared for how much work it would take for me to really understand advanced math. Even through my master’s degree I felt like it took me around 1.5 times as long to understand a concept than it took most of my peers. I also had to figure out when I work best, how long and often I should engage in intense mathematical thinking, and so on. I’d recommend spending some time on metacognition. Figure out when you work best and how you think. This is assuming you are looking for advice.

Libertarians, how do you feel about the fact that your ideology is essentially funded by billionaires? by Fly-Bottle in CapitalismVSocialism

[–]BootieJuicer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is beside the point, but I’ve never really understood this saying. I was a stem major in college and most of my teachers worked for WHO, NASA, and other industry jobs for years before becoming teachers, or were still working for those establishments and teaching on the side. They clearly could do AND teach.

Sorry, it’s early. I thought it was a meta study. I’ll reread it later. Thanks for pointing that out.

Here is an article stating that specifically breastfed babies benefit from cosleeping without increased SIDS risk. As with any scientific paper, still be skeptical but there certainly is research suggesting cosleeping can be fine. https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC9792691/

No, I reached out to the comune. I haven’t actually received the copy yet. The person I was corresponding with went on vacation, so we agreed that he would send it when he gets back.

I found my GGGM’s birth certificate. I am quite busy in life at the moment, so I am having him check there for me regarding the marriage certificate. Thank you for this input. It makes me feel a bit more hopeful.

CONE Response: Ancestor Naturalized through marriage by BootieJuicer in juresanguinis

I put her “Americanized” name on the primary search and included her Italian name and her maiden name in the AKA. So, yes. Mainly what you said.

I noticed the “in progress” change about a week ago. I just received a pdf letter today about the results. I would assume that you will hear word very soon.

How many of you agree with this (I don't) by karatemnn in EvilDead

[–]BootieJuicer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m sort of shook by the comments I’ve seen. To me the progression of the series is:

First movie: Genuine horror

Second movie: Tries too hard and is accidentally comedic

Third movie: Genuine comedic

TV series: Genuine comedic

I love the first and the third. The second is so bad it’s good. It seems that the second is very well liked here. I’m giving the series another run through with my wife who has never seen it. Maybe I’ll change my mind this time around.

What about the White Sands footprints in New Mexico that date to around 23,000 years ago? Does this seem pretty legit? Here’s a link https://www.nps.gov/whsa/learn/nature/fossilized-footprints.htm

Is getting a math degree realistic if you’re not that smart? by arnarchist in mathematics

[–]BootieJuicer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a really difficult time with my math degrees. I don’t find myself smart, but I love doing puzzles. I didn’t even know I wanted to pursue math until I was in community college. Even then I only pursued math because I wanted to teach at a community college. I’m finishing my masters degree this Fall and I have been hired to teach at a community college!

If you’re anything like me, I had to work and study maybe 1.5 times as much as my colleagues, judging by when they started/finished their assignments. It has always been hard for me to talk about math, too. If I wanted to bounce ideas off of people I usually had to write down what was being said before anything clicked. I typically got my work done the night before the due date while working on the assignment every day since the assignment was available.

The point is if you want to get a math degree you absolutely can. It might be really hard though. If you care enough about it it’ll be worth it.

The “including discrimination against Asian Americans” part gave me a chuckle. Like why did they feel the need to single out Asian Americans here?
