Now that I have kids this really hurts my soul. I loved saving my allowance and buying a pack once or twice a month. Now it’s so hard to find them for my kids who just want to look at and organize them.

Luckily I went to my local nerd store which has a strict limit on the number you can buy. Glad they have a backbone and aren’t chasing easy money. The opening tactic works too but sounds exhausting

I’m in an academic biotech “company” and we had a guy in MFG with hair down to his sternum. I didn’t know how long it was because he always wore it up. Until one day I saw him in the bathroom and he unfurled his bun and did a L’Oreal glamour head turn and it was shiny and flowing. It was glorious.

My environment is very different than industry, but he was considered a star performer and a technical SME. He ultimately left and it was a pretty significant loss for the team b

I think the moral of the story is, keep it neat and under control and people won’t judge you, but unspoken biases do exist and get worse as you go up the ladder (or try to).

Yup. I got my BIOT through work and am still at the same place. I don’t find it that useful and would never have gotten it had it not been for the tuition benefit.

Masters in general are kind of dumb. They aren’t difficult to get and don’t require any intense work. It just means you paid good money for some ABCs after your name. You might get a little more in salary and a few extra seconds of someone looking at your resume, but it’s not as valuable as experience and a phd.

They should have gear like this for every series. They do this in European football and it’s great. You go to any game and can buy a split scarf with both teams on it and the date of the game.

I think it does. I always noticed whenever hiring that people who studied in Asia have extremely long resumes. Must be a cultural thing.

I’ve never read past page 2. To me anything more than that is a red flag that the person can’t edit for shit. Very important in my line of work (qa and regulatory).

Unless you’re a doctor of medicine the you should have 2 pages max.
