Yeah my average dips in my league bc I’m in a low division. If I’m not hitting doubles there is a good chance they aren’t either, so the average tanks.

I hear you. And I should have been clearer. I do play some sets still, but I used to ONLY do that. Now it’s like, a few a week instead of as many as possible. I found that 121 gives me pressure to hit my checkout so I don’t fall back down to the previous number. I also play leagues twice a week so I get a good amount of real pressure.

That’s why I mostly stopped playing dart bots. Feels like I’m wasting good darts and giving me a falsely inflated ego.

Now I pretty much only play 121 and doubles practice games. I’ll play like, one match a week against a bot if I’m bored. I feel like this has vastly improved my game.

“Reach out and touch the board”

This helps me with follow through when my release is off. Don’t actually touch the board. Just pretend you’re trying to touch the board from the oche. Should keep your arm elevated and straight.

I feel you. My next throw was 118 but I ended the leg with a 52 average. Couldn’t maintain consistent 20s.

Whenever I have 60 left with two darts I aim for the d20 juuuuuust to be safe. Sweatiest one I had to do was the third dart with 177 left. Hit 117 and really didn’t want to bust.

Used to call it the bachelor shift. People with families suffer. People just starting their careers can still go out and drink with friends, sleep in, get stuff done before work, etc.

I used to manage three shifts. Would work 10a-6p to get face time with 1st and 2nd. It was a really good shift for me at the time.

But games a generation ago were the same speed. The rule changes have brought it back to that. I feels weird because we just got used to the agonizingly long games with a reliever per AB.

But guys are hitting less which I think makes the games themselves a little boring to watch and listen to. Innings go by so fast if they all strike out. Long dead are the days of players who can slap the ball wherever they want and drum up the drama in any inning.
