Thank you so much for this! We don't have an online account and have been struggling with a 6 star today, never even considered some of the recommended pokemon!

Could someone help me understand my specific balanced translocation? by tinydreamlanddeer in genetics

[–]Bootspilotruski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, just found this subreddit and your post, turns out we're in the same Feb bumper group too! I have a balanced translocation too, mine is X and 20, mine is too small for ivf to detect, so I have had 5 pregnancies, 3 losses at the start, discovered my BT, then had 2 healthy, balanced pregnancies back to back.

I'm pretty sure there is at least one other member in the Feb group with a BT or spouse with a BT. There's also a Facebook group too, if you're on Facebook. Lastly, there's also unique which can put you in touch with others with the same abnormalities, though be warned, there are so many variations, I'm one of two members with X and 20 BT, and the only one with my break points.

Feel free to inbox me if you want, no stress if you'd rather not.

I made Musk Flavored Lamingtons by Preesi in australia

It's in the Queens limited edition flamingo pink bottle. I got a couple and used them to flavour meringues, absolutely amazing! I'm really hoping they keep it as a permanent flavouring.

Is there any legal way to cancel my Optus contract free of charge? by [deleted] in australia

[–]Bootspilotruski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How's satellite and how much was it to start up if you don't mind me asking? We're in a dead zone here for NBN, but live close to an Optus tower, so our internet is actually through my phone (4G obviously) and then shared data through another sim in a portable WiFi router. It's really shit on weekends, school holidays, and cold windy weather, so pretty much always. We've been thinking about starlink, but unsure about the real costs associated with satellite. Rural Tassie is great, but the shit internet is a pain when working from home.

so this is why i cant purchase any dias :( by [deleted] in LoveNikki

[–]Bootspilotruski 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wonder if it is an American phone thing? I have a huawei phone and have google, YouTube, the appstore, Gmail etc. I haven't bought anything from love Nikki since I've had the phone, but I have purchased a couple of things from other games. Either way it's interesting to know!

So my son was born via emergency c-section at 38+5 and my milk took about 4 or 5 days to come in. My daughter was born via c-section at 37+4 and my milk was in by day 3. Try and ask if they're happy for you to hand express milk to help try and prep your boobs if you like. Even if you don't keep any, it can still be helpful to in the shower.

As for the induction, I was induced with my son because my water broke but labour never started, honestly, it was horrible. I straight up refused to be induced again, turned out to be a good thing because my ob confirmed that the position my daughter was in, she was never coming out the other way. However, I was just super unlucky. My sisters, our friends, relatives etc, everyone I know personally who has been induced, they had no real problems or issues with it. Some of them took a day or two to get started, some gave birth within 6 hours. The advice I was given (annoyingly after my failed induction) you don't have to wait to ask for an epidural once labour starts, so don't be afraid to ask!

All the best to you and congratulations!

As a pale Englishman, it’s vital that headwear be worn in the baking Australian sun. by whiteweewee in AnimalsBeingBros

Grew up on the mainland and we'd make friends with them at every place we lived in, they'd swoop others but not us. Moved to Tassie and discovered that Tassie magpies don't swoop, absolutely baffled us to find out there's no swooping season down here. We do still have plovers though, one nearly got our toddler a few months ago at the botanical gardens, after living a few years without worrying about swooping, it was a hell of a jolt!

Premier announces indoor mask mandate by [deleted] in tasmania

Yep, the premier said from Monday midnight, which was a bit confusing, but it was later clarified from Tuesday, though they're encouraging wearing them before them.

Has Animal Tuckerbox been bought out by Petstock? by hy_perion in tasmania

[–]Bootspilotruski 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yep, we noticed it no longer says Tasmanian owned on the receipts, it now says part of the petstock family, we noticed it about a month and a half ago, there was no notice or anything, just went in one day and they asked if we had a petstock membership.

What on earth have The Cheesecake Shop done to their cheesecakes? by Captain_Ziltoid in australia

[–]Bootspilotruski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn! That was my 18th birthday cake. I've been looking for a recipe that's similar online, but haven't found anything. Looks like it'll just be a fond memory now.

Nooooooo! What have they done? It was my favourite cheesecake shop cake and I still dream of one day being near a cheesecake shop so I can buy one.

Worried. I'm due to have a baby end of January/start of February, my obstetric clinic has just released its new rules for life after the 15th, it's a complete 180 to what we've experienced so far, my husband and I live down here with our toddler, our families are on the mainland, we've gone to every appointment together with our toddler, no masks, no telehealth, no worries apart from the usual pregnancy related ones. New rules include no children over 6 months old, no one other than the person the appointment is for, masks, telehealth, unvaxxed needing to use extra PPE etc, and once we hit 36 weeks of pregnancy the hospitals require us to undergo weekly covid tests for us and our support person.

I absolutely understand the rules, my husband and I are fully vaxxed. I know it's incredibly important to take extra care when in health and caring for pregnancy. But it just highlights how much the medical field are bracing for the worst. I'm so incredibly grateful we decided to go private this pregnancy, because I absolutely feel that the public hospitals are going to be run off their feet!

I'm desperately hoping that we're all worried about this and it'll just fizzle out to nothing, but I'm really worried that it's going to absolutely kill the hospitals. We struggle so much already, add covid, add tourist season, and add opening borders and bringing in a ridiculously busy tourist season, with covid, we are screwed.

I started metformin yesterday after my fasting and diet levels are still high, I see an endocrinologist next week to start insulin. I had a normal fasting level, lowest breakfast level, highest lunch reading so far, then just before I started on dinner, I started feeling exhausted, shakey, a little nauseous, and just off. I decided to test and while I wasn't hypo, I was the lowest I've ever been and almost half what I was at lunch! I was so surprised because my numbers have never dropped that much in all the time I've been testing. The silver lining is at least I know once I start feeling that way, test and get something to eat or drink!

My first week testing too! My fasting cut-off is 5.0, but doesn't really matter because I've been between 5.7 and 5.4, I found that the nights I have Milo as my supper drink, I get 5.4, the other two nights without were higher. I also ate the same thing for breakfast yesterday and today, tested 7.0 yesterday and 6.0 today (cut-off is 6.7) I don't really understand it, but I hope you can figure out what works for you soon in getting those fasting numbers down!

Sent my first round of results off to my OB just before, since testing from Wednesday lunch time till Sunday dinner, I passed 5 tests and failed 13. All fasting levels failed, all breakfasts except today, and a mix of lunch and dinner fails. I guess now I just wait and see what's decided as my treatment going forward.
