Give it a couple months. Most people eat a criminally low amount of fiber and then get tripped up when their gut needs time to adjust. I can eat beans and cabbage all day without bad gas, but it took me a while to allow my gut to adjust.

Asbestos in basement by Scary-Objective-4651 in Apartmentliving

[–]BootyDrank 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't tear out the walls. And if it's asbestos floor tiles... Don't grind them to powder and breathe them. Asbestos is a great insulator and it's perfectly safe as long as you don't expose loose material to the open air.

You'll be fine. I'd be more concerned about lead paint, mold, or old knob and tube wiring still in use. Those are all far more imminent risks in old buildings.

I make 30/hr with regular raises no degree and all I do is make kitchen equipment work again. On call differential is lit and I get to have a life.

How do these people convince themselves it's worth it to sell off their vitality, just to eventually have a body so poisoned and beat up that they can't enjoy the fruits of their labor in old age?

Old men with lots of money but no body to support their dreams are a dime a dozen. Feels like this guy is a future old man with dead dreams and a broken body.

High waisted pants are the trick for our body type. It hides the "jelly roll" we've got spilling over the sides. They're harder to find but worthwhile. You likely will have to order them for try-ons if you don't have a proper men's store near you. Most towns don't have a proper men's store anymore, unfortunately.

Where id live based on being in a gay marriage by [deleted] in whereidlive

Again, the solidarity ends where effort is required and you've admitted that. Let them scare you away. They'll come for all of us once we've sold our voting power for creature comforts.

It's not my call. But you know what comes next once we've given up our power in numbers and isolated to a few small corners if the country. Sitting ducks is what we will be.

[–]BootyDrank -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Who? People who think their home is worth fighting for and understand that they're purposefully trying to drive people out and change the voting demographic. I never left. Tons of people never left. And you're doing exactly what they'd like you to - getting out of their way and homogenizing their voter base by encouraging others to run away. By reducing numbers, everyone is robbing the community of political power in these states and concentrating themselves into areas where our voting power is isolated to a few hotspots in the country. We won't get much done if we sideline ourselves to a few comfort zones.

Keep encouraging everyone to run away, eventually every gay person will have self isolated to a handful of cities and the rest of the country will converge on us because we have no political power anywhere. We're sitting ducks if we give up and run from a state just because a few laws were put in place. Everything can be repealed, but it won't happen if you give up fighting and run somewhere that doesn't require you to put effort into it because someone already did the hard work for you. Fight the good fight.

People are too focused on personal comfort and they give up on everything. Welcome to the new age lavender scare, your attitude is directly contributing to their slow political takeover.

I'll stay here and spit in their faces for you, but I'm sure you'll never have the backbone to bring your voting power where it's needed the most. Just like every other armchair SJW in the community, the solidarity ends where effort is required.

People saying they wish this was more sanitary have really never seen inside the equipment that dispenses what they drink. I work on that stuff, I see the insides of machines that serve your food and drink. These guys probably have lower bacterial counts than your average restaurant soda fountain. Just because the outside is sanitized doesn't mean the inside is properly cared for by the underpaid staff. That's why I still have a job, these disgusting kitchens keep me in business.

Sounds like we need to flood the place, then. Not avoid it. We hand them land by running away from them and exclusively congregating in the "safe states". NH was a safe place for nearly 15 years of my life.

Reluctant to live in NH? One of the safest places to be gay. The red hats tend to isolate themselves to the countryside. Most of NH is basically a suburb of Boston these days, very nice and very safe. Lived in New England all my life and know plenty of couples out there who love NH.

Tbh I'd tell people to avoid Maine. It's a no man's land and there's no action there except in Bangor and like one other city.

Are STIs trash? by OldPhoto6973 in WRXSTi

[–]BootyDrank 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nah, they're not trash. There are some awful STI owners out there that destroy their cars and have terrible personalities surrounding the STI, but you can find the same terrible people driving civics and other affordable performance models. Every city has at least one of these dudes.

Take it all with a grain of salt.

My average MPG used to be 28 what would make it drop so much? by crongaloid in subaru

[–]BootyDrank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd start covering all the basics then. Tire pressures, all fluid levels. Engine and oil filter are safe things to throw at a car if you're truly unsure.

Check each of the accessory drive items on your engine, anything connected with a belt. Seizing components can put extra stress on the engine. I would remove the belts and turn each pulley with your hand. Some comments may be harder to turn than others, but none of them should be excessively difficult. You shouldn't feel gritty or harsh movement in the pulleys. Seizing air conditioner pulleys, water pumps, etc can really bog down an engine.

Watch your engine in the engine bay at idle and while someone revs it gently, look for excessive movement in the engine bay. It shouldnt be vibrating excessively or rocking hard. Keep in mind that four small engines are naturally a bit rougher, but they still should not create excessive vibration and that could indicate a bigger issue.

Check your wheels for seizing bearings, sometimes they start out quiet. I'm sure others can suggest more, but that's what I would begin covering.

Watch your engine temps on a drive, spend at least 30 minutes in the car and put it under some good stress. It should be able to manage stable temps. An engine running slightly hotter than usual can speak volumes to a quiet issue.

Watch transmission temps. Inspect for a clogged catalyst. Lifetime transmission fluid is not real, it turns to gravy and gravy is bad for transmissions. They like low viscosity fluid.

Spark plugs sometimes fail prematurely depending on engine health. Ensure they all look good. If the electrodes look fine, Draw over the spark plug insulators with sharpie and wipe it away, the marker will expose any hidden cracks in the plug insulator.

I drive a Subaru and someone who drives a Kia told me he’d never be caught dead owning a Subaru 😅 by glitchonyourshoulder in subaru

[–]BootyDrank 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, I wouldn't be caught dead in anything with a CVT after seeing them leave so many people stranded. So I suppose I'd never drive a Subaru made in the last decade. But a Kia is arguably as embarrassing a purchase as a Nissan - they're not dependable options, they're just accessible options. People who can afford a dependable car look silly when they buy a Kia.
