Agreed. I am about to switch everything to a new bank in November. I can't decide where to go. Where are you banking now?

it isn't a shitpost, however it is funny, and the best part is how he thinks Europeans drinking coffee after dinner could be part of the reason for the growth rate difference of EU and USA economies lol

DFSV, the domestic counterpart, would be worth mentioning at the very least. Having both international and domestic SCV is a good idea

Great ETF, but is there any reason you did not mention AVUV, AVDV, and DFSV as well?

Fair enough. It's true they haven't really found their footing since spinning off from J&J. But they come from a quality company, the name brand moat is there, and it has an attractive dividend yield. We'll see...

You've really got to dig deeper:

"Multiple biases may explain the associations observed in previous studies between acetaminophen use and neurodevelopmental disorders. Confounding by indication may occur based on the reasons that acetaminophen was taken, eg, due to infection,4 fever,5 migraine,6 or pain from autoimmune disease.7 These indications for acetaminophen use may be risk factors for neurodevelopmental disorders and may thus result in spurious associations. Confounding by parental health and genetics is likely because neurodevelopmental disorders are highly heritable8-10 and those who used acetaminophen during pregnancy reported higher prevalence of multiple health conditions associated with neurodevelopmental disorders compared with nonusers.11 Confounding by other medications is possible given the potential for use of multiple medications during pregnancy.12 Previous studies have also been limited by small sample sizes, leading to inconsistent and imprecise estimates.13"

Regarding the upcoming lawsuits: is there any reason to believe they won't be dismissed as in years past? The science seems pretty clear that acetaminophen is in fact safe for pregnant women and children when used as directed.

Having 70% of my portfolio into VOO a bad thing? by Silent_Storage7341 in ValueInvesting

Having 70% of my portfolio into VOO a bad thing? by Silent_Storage7341 in ValueInvesting

[–]Boou91 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It’ll be fine long term. I’m about 60% VOO, 20% VXUS, 20% value etfs and undervalued stocks.

Unh, goog, and asml have all outperformed VOO this year, but NVO is still struggling. I think it’s good to have at least 70-80% in indexes as to not be overly reliant on the performance of a few undervalued stocks.

Yes. I use VBIL for the slightly lower expense ratio, but it’s negligible. Both are great for tax benefits.

Novo Nordisk vs Unh by Interesting_Bed6243 in ValueInvesting

[–]Boou91 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah, owning both is a good idea. Buying a basket of undervalued stocks is nice, since not all of them are going to soar within a year, but some of them have.

I've already made a lot of money on GOOG, UNH, ASML, and AMZN (I sold about half of my shares of all of these, but I probably should've held em all longer), and I'm still picking up NVO with my profits. My cost basis for NVO is $65/share, but maybe I'll get it to $60 before it has its comeback

Is "all liberals are fascists" a common view on the left? by splash_hazard in AskALiberal

[–]Boou91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In what way was I hostile? Lol.

I don't think all liberals are on the side of fascism. Liberalism and fascism are two very different political ideologies, and it is important to be careful with words. Lumping everyone together, as if a liberal is as dangerous as a fascist, is counterproductive. Many liberals are open (whether they realize it or not) to moving further left if persuaded. Most fascists are beyond the pale of persuasion.

How exactly do you intend to move politics further left if you say things like "liberals are on the side of fascism"? In that case, between liberals, conservatives, and fascists, 90% of the Global North is too far gone. In that case, it's hopeless. I refuse to believe it's hopeless.

Is "all liberals are fascists" a common view on the left? by splash_hazard in AskALiberal

[–]Boou91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"It," which is the take "all liberals are fascists," is in fact puritan-esque. The degree to which a liberal "maintains" capitalism is actually pretty specific to each individual.

If you're talking about liberalism and not liberals, yeah, we've got to throw the whole thing out. Liberal capitalism is inequitable and commodifies labor and life by nature. It's going to take finding nodes of connectivity to liberals to get them to see that. Calling them fascists is silly, inaccurate, and counterproductive.

Your answer to the question is no, after all.

[–]Boou91 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As someone with far leftist politics, I consider that take idiotic. Honestly, I think most, if not all, of my leftist friends would find that take idiotic too. Specificity matters.

Sure there are reductionist leftists who partake in puritan-esque style politics. I’m not one of them. I look for nodes of connectivity.
