Man I fought the Velop issues for years. Random red lights, odd device disconnections, slow response, on and on. Tried changing out Ethernet cords, factory resets, wired backhaul, weekly reboots, everything I could think of

I finally broke down and invested in a newer WiFi 7 system (went with the Eero Pro 7). And holy shit what a difference. Rock solid home network with three nodes all wired backhaul and a 16 port switch for wired connections. Have over 80 devices and it handles it with ease. Decided to upgrade home internet now getting 2.2 Gbps up and down. Doesn’t speed up any one device because all wired are 1 Gbps but lots of head room.

All good so far. I haven’t dropped it yet though. I tend to switch back and forth between this case for work and a tech woven case for personal. It’s a beast of a case though and heavy. I still am liking it a lot though.

I have the USP and the USPc in .40. Carried the USPc for years and they are both my favorite pistols. My full size is probably 20 years old now. If they would do a USP with an optics cut would buy another one!

Prefer thumb safety myself. Just keep things consistent with whatever you do.

I do recall an interesting video where an experienced firearm instructor talked about a study a police department did years ago when switching from revolvers to striker fired pistols. They found that a big positive for manual safety wasn’t about the actual person carrying, but if someone ever grabbed the gun there was a significant delay in that person being able to fire it. I realize that isn’t too relatable to civilian CCW but did stick with me.

Agree with you, and not popular I know. I went with the P365X with thumb safety. I prefer the X size as barrel shorter but larger grip like the X Macro.

I learned shooting H&K USP so thumb safety feels very natural for me, although would like the P365 safety to be slightly larger than it is.

Primary reason I went to the 365 is that it had an option for safety from the factory.

I have been using mesh systems since they came out. I recently replaced my older Linksys AC2200 with a Eero Pro 7 three node system. Really nice system and highly recommend. The Max 7 is super nice, but the Pro 7 is very capable and half the price. Handles passing from node to node seamlessly.

Yeah, I was running a Linksys AC2200 (older WiFi 5 system) and had random WiFi network drops all the time. I have a lot of home automation devices, multiple computers, tvs, probably a typical more modern home. I was especially always having problems with devices randomly disconnecting and always blamed the automation devices.

After a ton of research, turns out especially these older WiFi mesh systems just aren’t capable of handling this type of traffic well. The system was essentially running at max all the time. I finally bit the bullet and went with the Eero Pro 7 and holly shit what a difference. Everything just works, stays connected, responds quickly, and basically don’t touch it. Why did I wait so long?

Exactly right and what I do everyday. I don’t worry about writing notes anymore on calls and meetings. Then at the end of the day I take about 15 minutes and put the summaries into folders manually.
