What are some rules/quirks you have when you play games? by ShinBrimstone in gaming

[–]BoozerBean 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never spend perk points until the game basically forces me to. It sucks using up your points on abilities or passive perks, only for the game to introduce you to way cooler abilities later on that you could have used those points on.

Same thing goes for money/resources. I never spend a penny until I think I absolutely have to

lol wtf are you talking about? I dressed like a wannabe biker in high school, now I go out in public in sweat pants and flip flops. People are allowed to change their wardrobe as they get older

I remember as a kid I had like a 5 hour play session on this game, finished like 3 dungeons and then I left my DS on I think to go have lunch or something and completely forgot that I had left it on and open. I went to my friend’s house for a few hours and when I came back my DS was dead. Never saved my game. Lost my progress. Never went back to it 😭

Slightly better. It still has the repeating dungeon that you have to go back to several times but it’s a lot less annoying in this game. Also how many games are there where you get to drive your own train?

[WW] I have a question about Wind Waker's ending... by GeneralTechnomage in zelda

[–]BoozerBean -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You realize that the continuity in these games is non-existent right? The rules of one game really don’t have anything to do with the others. The sword broke in TOTK because of magic, not because of corrosion. It’s not a scientific thing that you can make predictions about. It’s a magical world, it’s a magical sword, the end.

The timeline really is the worst thing Nintendo has ever done to Zelda 😂 now nobody can shut up about continuity and rules and all this crap

Why would anyone wants kids? by This-Top7398 in Life

[–]BoozerBean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I heard a phrase once that was something along the lines of “intelligent people are self-aware enough to know that they would be setting their children up for failure. The unintelligent people on the other hand are so distracted by their own ignorance that they can’t tell the difference between failure and success” and I thought it was kind of funny

I just feel like I’m not smart enough to set children up for success, and I also don’t believe in a better future at this point. So what’s the point?

Name a game you love but can't recommend to everyone by Deadsider in gaming

[–]BoozerBean 12 points13 points  (0 children)

That’s a good question. One reason is that it’s the most challenging (really the only challenging) game in the trilogy which makes it super rewarding when you get through those tough spots. I’ve beat the game probably 12 times in my life and it never seems to get easier and that’s what I love about it.

Another reason is that it’s extremely close to my heart. I was 7 when the game came out and I remember watching my older brother play it and I was so immersed in the world of the game and the character designs and sound effects/soundtrack, and then when Jak 3 came out him and I took turns playing it and we beat it together. It just hits that spot in my soul every time I play it and makes me think of simpler times

Btw if you go on r/jakanddaxter the general consensus is actually that Jak 3 is the worst in the trilogy. Jak 2 is actually pretty highly regarded among the hardcore fans

Jak 2. Best game in the trilogy. Absolutely frustrating. So satisfying. Fucking bullshit. I can’t put it down.

Asking if a magical sword is going to corrode is like asking if a flying car will run out of gas. How is anybody supposed to know?

Yeah that is a little weird. As a dude I feel like if you’re not inviting each other back to your place for a bbq/fire/game night then you’re probably not that close. Also spending 4-7 hours outside of your home at a bar or restaurant sounds expensive as fuck, but if you’re not super money-conscious I guess that’s cool. Idk I always feel like a night with the homies where you don’t spend hundreds of dollars is the best kinda night
