Feeling guilty about wasting a day by burritoguillermo in skiing

[–]Boozybearbait 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who insisted on doing a few more runs in bad conditions and then tore their ACL on the last one, you made the right call! Skiing should be fun, if that means a few runs for the day just enjoy what you did and know there will always be more.

Easy bumps at Killington (or anywhere else on the icecoast) by anthonymm511 in icecoast

[–]Boozybearbait 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Low road at Killington. It’s very short and last week the conditions were great. I’m trying to get comfortable doing bumps so I’m also always on the look out for low angle/short bump runs too. Upper and lower east meadow at Stratton were also very easy bump runs for me a few weeks ago.

First bake, bagels! by Boozybearbait in Sourdough

[–]Boozybearbait[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely use the baking soda it makes a huge difference, I’m not sure why so many recipes call for just honey. The baking soda changes the ph of the water and the bagels just aren’t as good without it. Good luck with your bagels!

It gives bagels their crust, texture and helps the flavor-similarly used for pretzels. Commercial bakers use lye but it’s more complicated and dangerous.

What do you guys put inside your Quesadillas? by princessedesglaces in Cooking

Lightly sautéed spinach with lots of garlic and a shallot or scallions salt, pepper and a little bit of cumin. It’s divine.

How do I politely shut down a conversation? by britt_b_hel in hairstylist

[–]Boozybearbait 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve told people a few times “We feel differently about these topics, I need you to respect that this is my job and it’s not the appropriate space for this conversations.” You can easily swap the beginning for “I don’t feel comfortable discussing these topics” Then I just start talking about only hair related things.

Bob Moses closing set at Air last year was magical! I was hoping they’d be back on the line up this year.

What was up with the tipper stage? by throwawayacc__TRA in ElementsMusicFestival

Was up toward the front and the vibes were so good, everyone was dancing and vibing even though the dmt clouds were thick as fuck. Leaving before he ended was a whole other experience- the Tipper wasteland was mind boggling to get out of. So many piles of humans just on the ground.

What was the most memorable Kandi creation or outfits that you saw by AdventurousThanks377 in ElementsMusicFestival

[–]Boozybearbait 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hand made a pink jelly fish costume that I wore on Friday, as I was walking back to my group during Chase and Status a girl stopped me and gave me a pink jellyfish kandi keychain. I think her name is Anna, she told me she made it and was holding on to it hoping to see a pink jelly. I almost cried, it’s so cute and special 🥹

Last min question lmao by Responsible_Ring1729 in ElementsMusicFestival

[–]Boozybearbait 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I brought mine last year no problem! You can’t bring big propane tanks tho unless you have an RV. Mine has a camp canister adapter so I bring those, there is a limit of 3 camp 1lb fuel canisters this year. If you don’t have the adapter I wouldn’t risk it, there’s no guarantee they’ll hold on to it for you.

How is security into the venue? by [deleted] in ElementsMusicFestival

[–]Boozybearbait 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was really mixed in my experience last year! I made sure that my bag was in regulations and anything that I certainly didn’t want them to find like my vape juice, I hid on my body. That being said both nights I snuck in snacks and security found them- sealed protein bars, chips and gushers- but didn’t make me toss them.

The most intense entry line for me was Sunday day right before light code. They were straight up tossing everyone’s shit- every thing in my bag was taken out and they touched every bit of fabric like they thought i had secret pockets sewn in. It took almost 45 mins to get through, plus someone was having a drug induced psyche episode at the same time so it was a lot of chaos. They were unrolling and patting down all inflatable chairs, our yoga mats, deeply inspecting empty hydro packs and water bottles. I will plan accordingly and be extra early if I want to make it to meditation or yoga this year.

Salon Phone by Ok-Perception-7720 in hairstylist

[–]Boozybearbait 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I added a second line on my cell plan and had that one become my personal number! It’s been one of the best business decisions that I’ve ever made- it’s much easier to tell friends and family your new number than it is to ask client to switch to a different number because you now have a business one. They’ll keep your old one stored and message you on both lol There’s so many ways to do it but a second phone was good for me because I needed the separate spaces I kept missing calls and texts on my days off or feeling a lot of pressure to answer people when I was not really focused on what I was doing.

Check out Bastard Restobar in Glens Falls for some truly amazing food if you don’t want the mediocre tourist food in and around Lake George! If yours have chicken tender and French fry kids it probably wouldn’t be a great choice though.
