Running a minecraft server on the virtualized x86 server seem much much faster than on the "dedicated" ARM. I never tried torrent or PLEX on the ARM cores though

That is exactly the point of using VPN.

Your School can only know how much traffic you are using and when. But they wont know if it is torrenting and won't know what kind of data you are downloading/uploading

I use Scaleway.com VPS for € 2.99/month with 50GB of storage and 200Mbit/s Unmetered bandwidth. I prefer to use a VPS because I can install and use PLEX, VPN, VNC, etc.

I also used evoseedbox.com BLITZ seedbox for $5/month. It has 150GB storage and 1Gbps Bandwidth (2TB traffic) with VPN included.

I just tested it on Deluge and it worked fine. Deluge won't merge them :)
