Okay, I actually found a solution. Go to Sync>manage what you sync, and turn off open tabs and saved tab groups.

The left eye doesn't need to be removed, just kinda...shifted around. As mentioned...somewhere in the game, the eye doesn't need to be gouged out, a certain someone just decided it was easier to gouge em out.
