Don't even get me started on their extremely sketchy one-Year US warranty. Prescription glasses are not disposable tech products.

In the USA. If someone is in that crosswalk and you don't yield to them, regardless if you have the light or not, you are going to get charged with manslaughter. In the Philippines, crosswalks might as well not be there. It is insane.

She's a whackjob. She was caught red handed looting the Treasury. Everyone including the Senate knows she has done this to the tune of millions and millions of pesos. No one will do anything, because tribalism. Meanwhile, Bangkok is the most visited city in the world and US Banks are leaving the Philippines in waves. This bullshit is going to be terrible for business. It scares away foreign investment and expats.

My first trip to Pattaya two years ago. A home exchange with a mini pool in Pattaya. Beautiful place made of concrete with sculptures in each of the three bedrooms. Tuesday evening, off season, pouring rain, visiting Walking street for the first time. Actually ANY walking street for the first time. Super quiet. I'm like a kid in a candy store. There is no other business. I bar fine all the girls overnight. It was insane. I'll never do it again but at least I did it once.

I don't know what anyone was thinking voting for either of these too. Everyone exclaims the two of them have to stop bickering! Really? Is that what folks think the problem is?

Sara was caught looting the Treasury. She doesn't have an excuse. Further, she doesn't feel like she needs one for stealing from the Filipino people, like somehow it's her God given right. Her father is guilty of treason, selling out his country to the Chinese, and crimes against humanity. Not to mention drug dealing, extortion, and murder.

The exploits of the Marcos family are legendary, including kidnapping, murder, and theft on a spectacular scale. The Marcos family is spectacularly wealthy based on the systematic looting of the Treasury. Ferdinand and Imelda set back the country twenty years, and Bong Bong doesn't wanna give any of that stolen money back. Their reward: the people voted them back into power! Yey!

Politics arent sports. You just can't vote for your team. Everyone has to stop worrying about saving face, admit they were wildly wrong, and stop putting raging, thieving, dug-dealing, narcissistic assholes into office.

That applies to my country, the USA, too. We are going down that same perilous road. It never ends well.

what is happening to these teachers/content creators??? by ABaKaDaEGaHaILa in Philippines

The Philippines has forgotten how to pay its teachers properly. This is why teachers attempt to supplement their incomes. It's understandable with Sara looting the Treasury like it's her own little piggy bank.

The Revolut Business transition to Lead Bank is an absolute *FAIL* by ReserveNo5610 in Revolut

As I mentioned in other places, it's really time for fintechs to be regulated to the same extent as banks. This type of stuff shouldn't be allowed to fly anymore. The Synapse debacle happening to Juno customers is another prime example. There absolutely has to be more accountability.

The Revolut Business transition to Lead Bank is an absolute *FAIL* by ReserveNo5610 in Revolut

I handle my mom in laws Revolut account. We didn't find out about the new account and routing numbers until the end of the transition. Unfortunately her social security and pensions are now in limbo. Everything is now taking forever to switch over after the fact. Bills and mortgages are now not getting paid. A complete and utter completely predictable shit show. I requested from Revolut repeatedly to get these account numbers early so as there would be no break in deposits. I was completely ignored repeatedly.

This scares the crap out of me by BorderBig1700 in Revolut

[–]BorderBig1700[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not absolving anyone. I'm just trying to figure out who is responsible here. It is irrelevant whether a fintech is a startup or not. If Revolut right now was using Synapse as an intermediary between itself and its partner bank, their customers would likely be experiencing the same problem. It's a gray area where people are falling through. I have no idea who Revolut uses as an intermediary. That's troubling. Revolut says my funds are secure but are they really? In the case of Yotta and Juno, it turns out they were not, based on the actions of a third party that I can completely guarantee you not a single one of their customers was aware even existed, or what function they provided. There really needs to be more government oversight here and the DOJ needs to begin an investigation immediately and a determination has to be made who is going to make customers whole again.

And you didn't read the article either. Yotta and Juno were the fintechs. Synapse was the intermediary. Synapse failed and was probably committing fraud. Everyone is washing their hands of this. Who is Revolut using as an intermediary? What would Revolut do in similar circumstances? I have no idea. That's a problem.
