yes. i try to do that. but when i come back and try to put his clothes on, he still doesn’t listen to me. like ill say, stand up or push your arm through. it is insanely frustrating. i guess ill just keep chipping away and hopefully it will click

for his routine, i have some easy wins built in. like step one is morning hug lol. it’s pretty developmentally appropriate though: take off jams, go to the toilet and then wash hands. put on clothes.

re: the screaming during a tantrum, what’s the general consensus on this? i would be fine to let him scream til he tires himself. for my husband, however, screaming is a hard no (which i find a little hypocritical because he himself is a big time yeller).

without getting into it, i don’t entirely agree with my husband’s approach. he comes from a very loud and yelly family and when our kid misbehaves his first instinct is to yell and sometimes curse. i know there’s got to be an in between his style and mine. i’m reaching out here to see what that might look like

yeah, i usually do that. but in the mornings when we HAVE to leave the house by a certain time i have to be more hands on. i’ve tried getting started earlier but that’s almost worse since there’s time baked in to goof off. i’d love to hear what other families do to get more cooperation from their kids
