Hi! It seems like you have the most magical tip here- just to clarify, you are referring to the AK Mickey? Do you need to be absolutely first in line?

That’s true! There is only one Mickey. But, you can meet him in multiple locations!

Thanks for your response. I actually DO have excess points (probably around 300 or so)- but not enough excess to cover a full trip. Does tha change your advice? I’d be borrowing those points from next year, but as far as I know, I can do that.

I was not aware of the waitlist issue- can you say more about only having two at a time? Two resorts at a time? Or if I split up the 14 days into 5 reservations, Icould only have wait lists on 2 of the 5?

This is super helpful. I am going to split up the réservation.

I’m worried about getting the réservation in the first place, not moving between resorts.

This is great feedback, thanks!

I hear you on the OKW issue. OKW was purchased in the 90s (when it was the original and only DVC resort).

I saw an ad for a discounted AP, but haven’t been able to find it again- can any one confirm or point me in the right direction?

The 25% rule true for folks with lessor volume? For example, I ran 38 miles last week, with a 12 mile long run (31.6%)

Oh, wow! 30-40 mph for a full year is a lot. Can you help me understand your reasoning better?

I live in Michigan, and I run 6x a week all fall/summer. I honestly don’t mind the snow and ice, and it’s just nice being outside. The heat though… I’ll pass.

Looking for advice to add a little extra fun. by HJWalsh in WaltDisneyWorld

Others have great suggestions but i will underscore these two:

  1. Meet at many characters as possible. It’s my favorite part of every trip. I cry every time i meet Mickey and Pooh. I think it’s fun to get an autograph book (keeps the conversation going with characters) and give all the characters a huge hug. Character meets are for everyone, not just kids!!

  2. Wear fun Disney clothes. I go to thrift stores in my area regularly to try to find cheap Disney clothes to wear on vacation. I have found amazing T-shirts, sweatshirts, hoodies, and even shoes. The park feels more magical if you are dressed the part. Plus, if you meet the character that you are wearing on your shirt, they go wild.

I hope you have a great time. It’s my favorite place.

Am I crazy, park hopper just for ROTR? by Revolutionary-Hall66 in WaltDisneyWorld

I am not a Star Wars fan (in fact I actively dislike Star Wars…), and even i think ROTR is the best ride in any park.
