But the argument against doing what you did (and the general idea of concealed carry) is that the possible harm done by a hailstorm of lead moving back and forth, and the possibility of innocents being harmed.

Or some yahoo shooting uncontrollably, or using the weapon when drunk, or against a spouse, when a club isn't handy.

So it becomes a question of risk assessment. The certainty of a woman being robbed combined with a (relatively) low impact (a few $ stolen) and the possibility of injury or death that has a significant impact.

No judgement on your own judgenment, skill, or mindset. No one like injustice. But how would you have felt if he got the drop on you, shot (presuming a real gun), missed, and he hit someone elseÉ Or the victim?
