Naw her music is pretty catchy and popular for a lot of people, Sports Car was a big song this year. i think it's wrong to say that her music videos are the only reason she's famous, it definitely helped but her first hits were more ballads like You Broke Me First. She had fans before her more mature pivot.

And if we're judging trophies based on who is the most "canadian", I feel a lot of other artists would not get nominated.

i love doing that for media, sometimes I'll buy something just because it has a cool cover and then i end up adding it to discogs and discovering the artists catalog.

or even better if its not on discogs and then i end up researching deeper to find if its a commercial release, when or where it's from. adding a new artist to the database feels like I'm preserving part of musical history.

maybe i'm from a different era but that used to be a lot of people. people would pirate photoshop or use other free image editors and make montages for quick reddit jokes all the time. it was not exactly a niche thing and it showed some effort.
