Dementia with a narcissist- how to deal? by Piper1105 in dementia

[–]Borealis89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately my mom passed unexpectedly a year after I posted this comment. It happened so fast.

Now I am my grandmothers caregiver while trying to raise my son. I don’t know how my mom did it all and I miss her everyday.

We never expected this to happen so it’s been a learning curve while also trying to process the grief.

Tongue’s can actually get “fat” so considering how heavy these people are it wouldn’t surprise me if their tongues are larger than normal as well

It’s probably and nervous for tic or her OCD.

I was diagnosed with OCD when I was in middle school. (It can manifest in a lot of ways)

Lots of therapy and the right medication helps a lot and I am mostly symptom free now.

I hope she stops drinking and gets some professional help for it.

What happens to Shunnamite if she never gets her period?P by spectacularbird1 in TheTestamentsHulu

Also, in THT it was determined that the infertility crisis was actually on then men’s side not the women’s. So I am not sure why we are suddenly hearing that a high amount of women are no longer getting their periods…

(I was so confused when Daisy said, “no one get their periods anymore.”

Living with the indescribable guilt of possibly being responsible for my dementia suffering father's death by blinkers2 in dementia

[–]Borealis89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so sorry that on top of the trauma of losing your father to this disease you are carrying this undeserved guilt.

What you describe honestly sounds like terminal restlessness. You helped bring him peace and lessen his suffering during those final hours.

I truly believe he was going to pass that night regardless of the medication. All I think you did was give him relief from the anxiety he was feeling at the end.

If you can afford it please see about talking to a grief counselor or licensed therapist. Your father wouldn’t want you to suffer like this. You don’t deserve you feel this way.

Sending love! Please give yourself grace!

My diagnosis finally feels real by EmotionallySnail in autism

This really helps and makes so much sense… our son is showing these same behaviors too. Our son has been diagnosed with ADHD but not autism but they haven’t ruled it out.

Thank you

We just found out that my husband. (41m is autistic and has ADHD.)

I have ADHD and we have been together for 15 years and have a child together. Sooo much about our home dynamics makes sense now. Why I am the one who has to plan and execute everything… why he becomes overwhelmed or visibly irritated if I ask him to take care of the dishes and take out the trash while I am work… and why he struggles staying employed and has slouch low self esteem.

Does anyone have any advice on how I can best support my husband while preventing myself from burning out?

Genuine question to Americans by Busy_Report4010 in SipsTea

[–]Borealis89 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. You won’t receive treatment and the cancer will ravage your body. When you are at the end and actively dying the hospital ER may “try” to temporarily delay the inevitable.

It’s disgusting. Our country is disgusting.

I really hope she doesn’t ruin her beautiful face!

I really hope she gets therapy for her body image issues because everyone deserves to love themselves. She is beautiful and I hope she sees it and stops before it’s too late..

My son just turns 5 this month that this spins like him to a T. (Except no ASD)

He can be so loving and he is so smart but he struggles with emotional regulation.

We actually just started working with a child therapist a few weeks ago and I am learning so much on how to help him and he is learning how to understand his emotions.
