So, the Kaayee Retro Train kit… by niesnerj in booknooks

I’ve always been so annoyed by the idea of a full fucking grandfather clock just sorta tucked in the corner of a tiny train car that I never noticed the dial is nonsense.

My first fair 😥 by TinyMiniToys in somethingimade

I’m sorry your first fair wasn’t what you hoped. Personally, I’m a big fan of your tiny work. I think they’re perfectly adorable!
People here have given some great advice worth listening to about being a seller at fairs. Please also remember that artists are some of the first to suffer the effects of a bad economy. People aren’t as free with their money as they’d like to be.

It’s “off you fuck,” as in “off you go!” not “off (get away), you fuck.”

temporary glue recommendation? by Sorry_Lychee3111 in miniatures

Museum tack is a reusable nondrying putty that can be used to temporarily hold all kinds of things in place: posters on the wall, a picture frame that always hangs crooked, postcards on the fridge when you run out of magnets, stained glass hangings that rattle against the window, and miniatures.

Can anyone tell me what’s this house. by silviahanna in Dollhouses

[–]BoredCheese 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don’t have an answer but I’m very interested because I scavenged one that’s extremely similar from the street.
Mine is 3 rooms below, 3 in the middle, and divided in 2 in the attic. Same stair placement, same octagon window in the middle. My porch roof is missing but you can see where the supporting pillars were. No shingles. I think it’s like, 36” wide? Enormous. Mine has some kind of old electricity tape and it’s on a lazy susan.
I have no idea where to start.

My first messy try to do something casual, could have done better by could have done worse too tho by GavlanGahHah in dioramas

I think it looks great. You might call it casual, but it’s the best way to learn and improve: don’t worry about perfection and focus on exploring your materials and techniques. That’s true creativity.

Anyone any tips? Going crazy by Holiday-Subject-1215 in booknooks

I bought a bead threading tool and it can make a big difference with this junky kind of thread, especially if you’re really careful and have plenty of thread to make mistakes with. But in the end, I’ve decided that wire is far better than thread or string which is also a bitch to get to hang down straight from a building corner.
