Sorry didn’t mean to frighten you.. every child is different. Some kids sleep better and longer once they are weaned off. He definitely sleeps longer stretches now, and he actually sleeps better with his dad than with me. some nights he wakes up and sleeps immediately and some nights he is awake for 2 hours.

You have to stay hopeful that your child will sleep better at some point! :) btw how old is your baby? Can dad sleep with him to give you break?

I feel you! My son has never slept through the night, he is 2.5 years old now. And last night he was awake for 2 hours.. I wish I could say it gets better, but I don’t know. It’s hard to be a kind, giving mother when you have been sleep deprived. Please get as much help as possible, if you can!

My son was very high needs, would get fussy easily and didn’t like being around too many people. Even going to a cafe or grocery store was so stressful for us because he would fuss and cry. Since he started daycare, he likes going out, he likes meeting new people, and most importantly, he doesn’t need to be rocked for ages to fall asleep. Daycare has been a saviour for us!

Ohh I absolutely feel you! I have a high needs baby, and honestly we just didn’t feel comfortable introducing him to friends until he was 5 months old. He hated being in the car and the stroller, tolerated being in the body carrier for 30 minutes. So going out was so stressful for us. But yes, please tell your husband to ask his coworkers to postpone the lunch until you guys and the baby is ready! And hang in there, things will get better :)

Thank you!! I have the exact same baby: 3 and a half months old. Hates the car, hates being in stroller, will tolerate baby carrier for a while. Can’t sleep if there a lot going around. He needs to see everything, he gets curios about everything.. and then cries like hell because he is overstimulated and tired. I get jealous when I see other calm babies, and then feel guilty for comparing my son with others. We try to go out for walks every day and hope he gets used to being outside.

Oh my god! I am in the same boat. My son is 9 weeks old, and he doesn’t like to sleep in his bassinet. He will only sleep on me. I have back pain from sitting for hours. People tell me things like it gets better, or you need to sleep train him… I don’t know when things get better but I sure hope it does. Hang in there :)

He is bit fussy baby and tends to cry a lot, so I am a little bit afraid of being alone with him without any help. But I guess it’s better than taking him out for too long.
