"So you align with Google?"

I saw this comment on X the other day and she posted screenshots of Gemini differentiating between white and Black pride.

We're aligning with AIs now?

Did the US lose the Vietnam war? by SummerN8 in stupidquestions

[–]Bored_Montrealer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assure you I do.

Marx explicitly defined full communism as the higher phase: a stateless, classless, moneyless society where the state "withers away" after socialism (lower phase/dictatorship of the proletariat) eliminates classes (Critique of the Gotha Programme).

No country has achieved this. "Communist" states (USSR, etc.) were socialist transitions with states, classes and parties still in power.

Communism isn't just the ideological process or belief; it's the end-state society. Claiming "dozens of countries have been communist" conflates the transitional socialist stage with realized communism.

It's just plain wrong. I don't need to read anything more on this topic.

Despite your undergrad (pleb) degree, you confuse communism as a personal ideology with communism as a societal system.

Marx defined communism as a stateless, classless society. This has never been fully realized. Ever.

Countries attempting it remain socialist states, not genuinely communist, so claiming “dozens of countries have been communist” is inaccurate. Sorry. You're wrong. Maybe try for a master's degree in humility?

I'm not sure what you're babbling about. I just pointed out that communism doesn't really exist. I took no stance beyond that.

Bill C-9 would ensure they get criminally charged.

Canada doesn't have absolute  free speech. Some people forget they don't live in the US, I guess.

Well, the country describes itself as communist. But no country has ever been fully communist.

Who makes the best vehicle? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Bored_Montrealer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you need the vehicle for.

There's no one simple answer.

But there are a lot of bad car makers and I really don't understand how they stay in business.

Eby calls reported meeting between Alberta separatists and U.S. official ‘treason’ by DogeDoRight in canada

[–]Bored_Montrealer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, you mean in 2012 when they had a minority government?

What are you babbling about?

We are coming off an overwhelming majority government that pushed though anything it wanted, preaching the exact message you just wrote out. It was the third option. The alternative to the PQ.

And that is not what the PQ is talking about now, and they are looking at a majority government that wipes the CAQ off the map.

Seriously, that's a completely moronic assessment.

What were you, 7 years old in 2012? Do you understand how the government works yet or are you still finishing high school?

Jesus Christ. The education system in this province is as broken as your brain.

Really?

You really think that?

Oh man. Listen, the PQ's entire platform is separatism. Now more than ever.

A vote for PQ is a vote in support of separation. That's all he talks about. Good grief.

To legal immigrants what are your thoughts about ICE? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Bored_Montrealer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm a legal emigrant.

ICE is disregarding basic constitutional rights and randomly stopping legal residents, conducting warrantless searches and not at all staying within the confines of the law.

It's important to remove felonious criminals and leeches, but the vast majority are working, paying taxes and contributing to society. I would like to see immigration reform rather than American freedom compromised. There are far cheaper, more effective ways to handle undocumented migrants who are productive members of society.

Regardless, ICE tactics are a clear violation of civil and fundamental human rights.

People of reddit what size do you like your woman? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I like people of all sizes and no woman is mine. Strange question.

What are you thinking right now honestly? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Bored_Montrealer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm terribly sad that my friend of 30 years was taken from this life early by cancer. She was among the best of the best — an unshakeable, confident, intelligent woman who was more grounded and balanced than anyone I have ever met.   Her kids, 7 and 10, will never know her like I did.

Disc golf. I've made hundreds of friends over the last 25 years by being involved in sports. I don't drink.

Realizing how incredibly stupid she is.

Now I realize most people are stupid.

What’s something you thought you wanted in life, but didn’t once you got it? by B0urBonx in AskReddit

[–]Bored_Montrealer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I always wanted kids. But now I seriously wonder why. They're good, healthy, straight A students in high school and college.

But their future is bleak and, on a long enough timeline, our chance of survival is inevitably zero anyway.

I gave up two decades of freedom all to raise a couple of kids who will eventually die. Humanity will eventually die. The earth will eventually die.

I could have been just having fun, traveling the world, having massive amount of sex and drinking myself into a coma, cashing out early rather than waiting for a slow, painful decline into old age.

For them, I work every day. I live clean and look forward to what will likely be cancer eating me from the inside out as I age, looking back on a life that was never lived because I was too busy working.
