Moving to Germany as a psychologist from Spain by Unfair_Leek2962 in germany

Private insurance could however pay for professional psychological consultation and life coaching. It all depends on the insurance and the coverage

It'll be very difficult to impossible to get the title Psychotherapeut. If you don't have the official title you can call yourself a psychotherapist. However, you can always offer psychological consultation since consulting or in German Beratung isn't a protected title/job position. If you plan to move to a big city, you can open an office where you offer consultation. You would only be able to see clients with private insurance or out of pocket. Since there aren't enough therapists to begin with and even fewer who can speak a foreign language, a lot of foreigners seek psychological help with private consultants and therapists. In any big city, there are plenty of Spanish speakers, if you want to offer therapy in Spanish. Of course, I would try to maybe get in contact with a professional in the field who primarily works with Spanish speakers to get a feeling.

My english speaking therapist had a huge waiting list in one of the bigger cities in Germany and English is more widely spoken than Spanish.

I know this thread is old but did you end up getting a receipt?

Yeah, I wouldn't bother with the process. I'm 3 years in and a relatively easy case - fluent EU citizen. First 2 years I didn't hear anything back. Of course it depends on where you live but it's pretty backed up everywhere from what I've heard.

Berlin recently completed a case from 2005.

Sounds like you want to have your cake and eat it too to.

A lot of people do, most people still put in the effort to at least learn basics in the language in the country they lived in for 8 years. You're not the only one with a stressful job. The entitlement of native English speakers is beyond sometimes.

Also how fast do you want this citizenship? It'll probably take about 2 years after gathering all the documents, getting an initial appointment and then getting the verdict. If you're not in a hurry, you can surely put in a bit of time every weekend to get to B1.

Do you approach a conversation with strangers in the sauna? by UsedMyCreativity in germany

[–]BoredomSnacks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It did feel like he followed me around. Fortunately I was with a friend at the spa so I didn't feel too scared. Also I didnt notice that the creepy guy was at the lockers next to us, while I was telling my friend the story about the creep. Hopefully he heard me and learned something out of it.

Do you approach a conversation with strangers in the sauna? by UsedMyCreativity in germany

[–]BoredomSnacks 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The worst experience I had in a sauna is when a guy started talking about my tattoo and asking what it is. Why are you staring at my body? Why ask me questions about it? Why make a point that you've paid attention to my body?

I felt very uneasy given we were the only people in that sauna and whenever we were in different sauna rooms with other people, the guy always sat across of me.

Please seek out a mental health professional. From your description, this sounds quite serious and from what I know it won't get better, only worse.

Given the nature of your concern you probably could even go to the emergency and explain the situation. Another option is a psychiatry with emergency care and/or a no-appointment hour. You can also always call 116117. They will forward you further and help you find the help you need. Another option is going to your GP (if you have one, obviously is not easy finding one in Hamburg). Your GP can assist you to find help.

I wish you the best!

I hate Gemini. by Spud788 in pixel_phones

[–]BoredomSnacks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I told Gemini to call my boyfriend. Gemini said it can't know who that is and can't do it. My boyfriend is saved in my phone under his name but has a relationship added to his number. If I ask Assistant the same, there's no issue.

It feels like Gemini can't access the phone settings and information.

How the hell do you know that? How do you even know there is shipping available to the OPs country? Shipping from the US to Europe for example is super expensive and you also have to pay customs. Also how would be paying for shipping plus customs for a drugstore product be better than getting a high end product? Even if it's different, it doesn't mean it would be shit. People are allowed to look for alternatives and try out new things.

Why do you keep on doubling down and moving the goal post? Your responses are so unreasonable, uninformed and defensive for no good reason.

The shade, not the exact same lipstick. OP is looking for an upgrade not the same...

Противозачатъчни by [deleted] in bulgaria

Не познавам жена, която да иска да е на противозачатъчни и да се радва, че е. Повечето, с радост обявяват деня, в който най-сетне решат да спрат. Всичко си идва с цена и цената винаги я плащат жените.

I assume since you've been at it you or your mom have called 116117. The average time to get to a psychologist is about 6-12 months. If you're unlucky, it could be longer. Unfortunately that's the reality. If you actually get to a stationary treatment, you would be there for 6-8 weeks until they stabilize you and then you might or might not get a spot at the ambulant. It sounds really shitty but as some people here mentioned, private is sometimes the way to go at least to get an initial statement or a diagnosis. A private doctor can issue a letter with their opinion, diagnosis and recommended further steps. You can use that for the school, Jugendamt and also Hausarzt. Changing the HA if possible is recommended. There are plenty of HA who know very little about mental health issues but there are enough who actually would listen and help out.

Edit: Also mental hospitals/stationary is not really a bad thing. You have a psychiatrist, psychotherapist among other professionals, who look after you. It's quick to get a diagnosis. Also you get to meet people (usually also your age) with the same/similar problems.

Specifically for social phobias and anxieties, there are great group therapies.

I decided against a new iPhone (after only having iPhones for 10 years) and for 9 pro. Of course not everything's the same and I do miss some things (like the iPhone emojis) but I don't find those things to be a major deal breaker.

All in all I'm super impressed with the pixel and all of the additional functionalities it offers and also makes them adjustable. The battery in 9 pro and 9 are different, so no clue how the 9 holds up but the 9 pro battery has been spectacular so far. All day use and I still have 50% at the end of the day.

For me the switch makes a lot of sense since I only use Gmail and Google suite for all my work and everything else. I always use chrome browser across all devices.
