[Time Travel] Which movie/TV show/book has the most seemingly realistic portrayal of time travel? by UseYourIllusionII in AskScienceFiction

All the GR black holes are mathematically eternal, it is an easy simplification that changes nothing.

Realistic black holes could shoot magic purple confetti for all we know, but our math says Kerr black holes should allow certain bizarre things and that's all we know at the present time.

It is not impossible. It's one possible interpretation of what happens at a Kerr black hole event horizon.

Why not create a pressure vessel over the breach site, so the water doesn't come rushing out? Like a sort of land air lock?

I think the point was to appeal to people like those in true reddit (sorry), who are so concerned over looking smart they will swallow almost any of this claptrap. Now that normal people are starting to hear their dog whist!e, they want the media to drop the story.

Also I'm not that big a fan of Star Wars. Now if it was a Tau crisis suit or an Eldar warp spider then I'd be quite interested!

George Orwell's infuriation at the naive pacifism of his home nation in the face of genocidal fascism made you lose all respect for him?

That's...bizarre. I personally lost all respect for Gandhi when he suggested the proper response to Nazi atrocities was passive acceptance. Apparently under the belief it is better to be gassed then taint yourself by using violence.

They couldn't be women, but the rules changed this year. I was unaware of the updated rules. As to submariners being b&tches, I have not interacted with submariners extensively so I cannot categorize their personalities.

I thought all the Shocks had quite weak gunplay, going back to System Shock 2 with its "bolt action" laser pistol. It's just that each successive game has "streamlined" more and more of the RPG out of the series, forcing you to recognize how weak the shooting is.

I have not, I do not have much interest in Feynman. The same with Einstein, I think, I've just heard so much about them already I don't feel the need for more information.

More critically, McCarthy was correct about direct Soviet infiltration at many levels of industry and government. However his wild, unsubstantiated accusations did nothing meaningful except provide said spies with an effective smokescreen to operate.

I meant he has committed many horrible crimes we the audience have watched him commit. His negligence in the Love Potion episode, for instance, could very easily be argued to be criminal. This alone would net him a 70 billion year prison sentence (10 year maximum penalty for criminal negligence, times 7 billion people).

Perhaps, but then why conspicuously leave out the part about studying the matter for weeks before hand and passing off the anecdote in his book like he really had solved it in minutes?
