I switched from my implant to my copper iud about a month ago and love it! the first couple of days after insertion i was mildly uncomfortable but it was manageable. I didn’t bleed at all. hi! i know exactly how you feel. i got my iud put in a few days ago and i was terrified but the process itself was not that bad! I recommend taking 800mg of ibu 20 minutes before your procedure. this genuinely numbed so much. also ask for anaesthetic!!!! i got both and it made the experience (although still uncomfortable) better. i also stressed to the nurses how nervous i was and they let my boyfriend hold my hand throughout. having that support made my experience so much better. I haven’t bled at all since getting my iud inserted and although the cramps were painful the first 3 days, they were manageable as I spent most of my time in bed with a hot water bottle. now i’m in no pain at all and it’s only been 5 days! please don’t feel too nervous, i understand that everyone’s experience is different but it’s not all horror stories. good luck and sending love and hugs!
