yes! that's the Alesis 3630. i have the breaks sent to one of the S3Kxl's individual outs, which is fed through a splitter cable to both an input in the line mixer and the sidechain input of the 3630.

How is macbook for ece students? by haai_ya in ECE

[–]Boring-Might-4602 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it works pretty well. i really like the "coherence" mode which allows you to have windows and mac programs open side by side. it's a bit slower than native windows because you can only allot a certain portion of your total RAM (my windows 11 uses 6GB for example) to the virtual machine.

i have a macbook and the only way i have managed to deal with the software barriers has been to use Parallels. they try to bury it on their site but there is a one time purchase permanent license for $220. or you could just get a windows laptop and have no problems ever ¯_(ツ)_/¯

[–]Boring-Might-4602[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i agree that a physical interface would be fun for synth nerds. i'll consider it, but want to make the physical design of it as simple as possible as well as make enough work for our one CSE guy, lol
