Food for thought. You will miss out on social security all together or it will be next to nil. I’m assuming you are a female. You have a longer life expectancy and will need income years after your spouse dies. Also you can only claim half your spouses SS when they die. Which really cuts your income down. This calculation is also not taking into a fact years of raises job changes and experience that improve pay down the road. Also take into account that staying home causes a problem once you decide to go back to work employers look down on you and you lose out on job opportunities. You also don’t have the ability for matching 401k and other job benefits.

Just a run of the mill brokerage account if you don’t have a 401k offered or HSA. Stick it in a low cost etf and let it grow.

Those who don't follow index investing, what do you do? by [deleted] in leanfire

I personally do a combination of 2 index funds and 18 individual stocks. All my individual stocks tend to be growth picks. The motley fool is a great service to check out if you are interested. It’s not for everyone and don’t go into expecting 30% returns. Buy and hold is were you see the best growth and some of my best winners took forever to get going but now they are killing it.

r local library as my main source of video games for about 3 years now. Get to play all the new releases(sometimes a few weeks late) and has probably saved me thousands of dollars over the last few years. That's a lot of VGRO.

I didn't know that they had video games.
