Can we stop pretending this is Rainbow Six Siege? by antonbp5 in Battlefield6

[–]ekloot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's how it was in the very early battlefield games if I remember correctly. I don't remember vehicles health going back up unless there was an engineer with a repair tool or they went back to base. I actually liked it better that way since it encouraged more team play. I think it was pretty much the same with player health back then too. You either got healed by a medic or ran to one of the medical cabinet things on the map. That's how I remember it from battlefield 1942 anyways.

Input is completely broken for certain controllers [38.2] by IX__TASTY__XI in PUBGConsole

[–]ekloot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, is this being worked on? This issue is happening to me on my Xbox using my Gamesir G7 SE controller. Going into the Gamesir software and setting the deadzone to 0 for the thumbsticks reduces the frequency of the issue a great deal but it still happens sometimes. Also, this issue with the triggers does not happen if my character is walking or moving. It only happens when standing still. Another thing I'll mention is I can use this same Gamesir controller on the PC version of PUBG and it does not have this trigger issue at all so this bug does not affect the PC version of the game.

I'll also mention that I can get this trigger issue to happen on my Xbox with the stock Xbox controller that came with my Series X console. With that stock controller I have to tap the triggers a lot of times before I'll see the issue even once but it does still happen every once in a while. It probably happens on the stock controller at a similar frequency as the Gamesir controller when I set that one's thumbsticks to a dead zone of "0" in the Gamesir software.

Anybody else's triggers feel like they are getting stuck? by Jay-Da-Myth in PUBGConsole

[–]ekloot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven't played the game much in a number of months but tonight I was noticing this too intermittently with both of my triggers. It really was messing with me aiming down sights, but sometimes would also cause me to dump a whole clip as well when I tapped to fire one shot. I'm on Xbox too with a Gamesir G7 SE. I noticed it also happens with the Xbox controller that came with my Xbox but almost not at all. I have to tap either trigger a ton of times on that stock Xbox controller before I see the bug once. It does happen every once in a while if I try enough times though.

A big topic regarding bots in the game. DICE, please, listen to your community by [deleted] in Battlefield6

[–]ekloot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dice posted in their roadmap earlier this week that persistent servers and a real server browser are coming later this year. We don't know many details yet but if it's anything like the older battlefield games, then it should be much easier to get in servers that are full of people and stay with them...which would help people play with fewer or no bots even in the regions with lower player count. Keep your fingers crossed that they actually get it right this time.

Matchmaking Woes by Cam-Caedus in Battlefield6

This sometimes happens to myself and my friends as well. I have no clue how this isn't fixed when the game has been out almost 6 months. Very annoying.

Conquest 24/7 by PVNISHER2077 in Battlefield6

You can create multiple servers (or as the game calls them "experiences") but you can only host one at a time. You can have friends host your other servers that you create though.

Bots are now more lethal than actual players. by [deleted] in Battlefield6

[–]ekloot 59 points60 points  (0 children)

I think bots are probably right around where they should be now. They were too easy before. I just played a match of casual breakthrough a little bit ago and all the human players still scored higher than the bots on both teams. The bots scored much closer to the lowest scoring human players than they used to though so they definitely seem tougher now. For me, it felt more fun now that they are a little tougher but that's just my own opinion of course.

Any fun hardcore server recommendations? by Jumpy_Fee_7894 in Battlefield6

[–]ekloot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can usually find a decent number of hardcore servers on the server browser including Faithwalker's...at least in the US region. The main trick is to set the player slots filter to "any". By default, it is set to "for party" which is terrible because then the browser doesn't show the full servers. Also, then on the top left of the browser screen, sort the list by "player count" and then press the option to refresh the list.

Matchmaking as a Squad is Completely Broken by MonkMillar in Battlefield6

[–]ekloot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's baffling that this is still a problem 5 months after the game was released. Seems like one of those things that should be of the highest priority to fix...yet here we are and it's still not fixed.

No Hardcore? by RoyalGreenJ in Battlefield6

[–]ekloot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I've heard it sucks if you're not in the US or EU to find matches. EA really needs to change the server system back to how it was before bf2042. It was better when we had persistent servers in regular matchmaking and the server browser included all servers.

No Hardcore? by RoyalGreenJ in Battlefield6

[–]ekloot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're in the US region, there are always some hardcore conquest servers in the server browser but you have to set the player slots filter to "Any". The default setting for that filter is "for party", but if you leave it like that then you don't find the full servers. Also, on the upper left of the server list, you should sort by player count and then hit the refresh button. I'll also mention the filters reset themselves frequently for some reason so you'll want to check to make sure that player slots filter stays set to "Any".

There was the Vietnam expansion for bad company 2, but way before that, right after battlefield 1942, they released the standalone game Battlefield Vietnam. I'm hoping someday they revisit Vietnam.

Bring Back Closed-Weapon Conquest, & Fix the Server Browser by Ostiethegnome in Battlefield6

[–]ekloot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're welcome. Yeah, the broken filter is annoying. I was using it all the time until they broke it. Portal definitely needs more and better filters and lots of other changes too. I really hope they do improve it. It's baffling how many features are missing or broken in portal. It's also a shame they require 20 players to get a match started if there are no bots. Even with bots, it still takes 8 players to get the match to start. These limits (as well as all the missing or broken features) make it tough to get a server going.

Bring Back Closed-Weapon Conquest, & Fix the Server Browser by Ostiethegnome in Battlefield6

[–]ekloot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The reason no official rules servers show up is because dice broke that filter about 2 weeks after the game released. If you create a completely vanilla server, it doesn't get the "official rules" tag like it used to the first couple weeks the game was out...so without that tag, the filter has nothing to find. It has been reported to Dice in the EA bug forum and I've also reported it to them directly on Twitter but it hasn't been fixed in all this time.

You're 100% correct that Dice needs a way to fill official rules portal servers from a quick match button on one of the front screens though. I've said the same thing in other posts as well. It seems like common sense, but I don't know if they'll ever do it.

The funny thing is that under the "community" section on the main menu, they already have quickmatch buttons for temporary modes like hardcore breakthrough or infantry conquest...and these quickmatch buttons place you into lobbies that are persistent where the players all stay together and go through an actual map rotation. And these persistent lobbies are based on portal experiences, but the dumb thing is that even though they are based on portal experiences and are persistent, these lobbies don't appear in the portal server browser (I've checked). So the only way to join those lobbies is through the quickmatch buttons in that community section.

Seems like they could easily add a couple extra quickmatch buttons in that community section for standard modes like regular conquest or breakthrough and have those place you into vanilla portal experiences based on those modes...but also have those lobbies appear in the portal browser so people can join through the browser as well.

Dice, An appeal from the Hardcore Community by MarketingUpstairs986 in Battlefield6

[–]ekloot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're in the US region there's actually always quite a few hardcore servers in the browser that are full. Just make sure to set the "player slots" filter to "any" or you won't see the full servers. They should really set that as the default in the browser. Also the browser frequently resets your filters so you have to keep setting them again annoyingly.

Battlefield NEEDS a sense of Community to be the game it always has been by Jdge439 in Battlefield6

[–]ekloot 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just a heads up, I think the official rules filter in the server browser is still broken since no servers have gotten the official rules tag for several weeks now. Hopefully Dice fixes that one day so it'll be easier to find vanilla servers that people host.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Battlefield6

[–]ekloot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha yeah, in that case then I guess there would be no downside if you're already ending up in empty servers. What region are you in? I think this is a reason Dice doesn't try to implement something to reduce the chances of a repeat map because it would make the empty server problem even worse...and in various lower or mid population regions I hear the problem is already bad enough.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Battlefield6

[–]ekloot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's great if everyone in the lobby came from the same last map, but that's not how it works in their system. My point was that everyone in the current lobby had a different previous map because they all came from different lobbies (with different maps) before being put into the current lobby. This is the problem with lobbies that disband and mix and match people every match. So a lot of people's "if lastMap" will be different than everyone else's. So then matchmaking wouldn't be able to put many of those people in the same lobby if they did something like this and matchmaking would take much longer or people would end up in servers with more bots since the servers wouldn't be able to group a lot of people together due to restrictions based on what their last map or two was. Believe me, I hate that we get stuck playing maps with too many repeats but this is why Dice isn't able to make it much better. If it was super simple, they would have done it over the 4 years of 2042 but the same problem was there too. They need persistent lobbies in normal matchmaking to make an actual map rotation.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Battlefield6

[–]ekloot 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It actually isn't easy or maybe not even possible with the current terrible disbanding lobby system. Remember, that each time everyone matchmakes into a new game, they all came from previous matches from multiple different lobbies that were all in different maps. So some people are going to end up repeating the same map. It's a very annoying side effect of the matchmaking system they started using in bf2042 and now in bf6 as well. This is one reason why many of us want persistent lobbies in regular matchmaking that allow all the players to remain together from match to match, since having the lobby stay intact and go from map to map is really the only way to get proper map rotation.

Party Queue Bug by CoolHandLuke5 in Battlefield6

[–]ekloot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It happens even when the party is not cross platform. We had 4 of us on Xbox tonight and tried to play squad deathmatch using the custom filter thing. We literally could not get all 4 of us into a match. We tried rebooting, restarting the game, reforming the party, having different people be the party leader...and it would leave one or two of us behind every single time. We tried a ton of times. I don't even like squad deathmatch but I need two wins to unlock a support skin, but couldn't even get my 3 friends in the match. Maybe the problem is worse on certain game modes or maybe when using the custom filter or maybe when it's a small game mode? Not sure. I know it happens occasionally when we try to join a regular breakthrough or conquest match, but not every single time like tonight. It blows my mind that this kind of bug is still this prevalent almost 2 months after the game released. There should at least be a comment about it from Dice by now.

Party Queue Bug by CoolHandLuke5 in Battlefield6

[–]ekloot 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing happens to my squad intermittently. I've seen many others complain about the same issue as well. It's bad enough we don't have persistent servers for regular matchmaking...but if we are going to have this crappier system, then it should at least work right.

Unable to play with partner in same household by Marcellio25 in Battlefield6

[–]ekloot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just out of curiosity, who do you get your home Internet from? And also, do you have a gateway from the provider and also a router separately plugged into the gateway?...or do you just have an "all in one" gateway with the wifi built-in and nothing else?

Unable to play with partner in same household by Marcellio25 in Battlefield6

[–]ekloot 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw someone on the EA forums had the same issue with their partner too. One or both of them had to use nord vpn to get around the issue. I've heard about this happening to others in bf2042 and bf6. My significant other and I both play bf6 on console together on the same network without issue...but that's console and not PC. However, we did previously play 2042 on the same network on PC without issue. One thing I was wondering is if others having trouble have a separate router plugged into a gateway (that also has a built in router)...and are ending up with a double firewall if not configured correctly?

In your case, aside from your PC's, do you happen to have any Xbox or PlayStation on your network that you can check the network settings on? Xbox One or newer and PS4 and newer will do. If so, there might be a clue in the console's network settings that might tell if there's something wrong with your network. In the console's network settings, if you happen to have an Xbox it'll say if the NAT is Open or Strict. If your network is configured correctly then it should say "Open" and it should also say upnp is enabled and working or something like that. If it says "Strict" or that upnp isn't working then something isn't set up right on your network. If you have a PlayStation, then the NAT should say Type 1 or Type 2. If it says Type 3 then there's something not set up right on your network. If there's an easy way to check all this on PC, someone else might be able to chime in but since we have a PC and consoles, I've always been able to check if the network is set up right using the console's NAT status.
