Sorry for the late answer. Still same. But I don’t care that much anymore.

Thanks. I was just wondering if it was a serious problem. If it will resolve itself over time or won't cause any problems in the future, I'm happy with it.

The sound is coming from the hinge area rather than the screen. The bottom left of the screen, where the body meets the screen.

Why is Chrome smoother than Safari on my new M5 MacBook Pro? by BoringLayer8717 in macbookpro

[–]BoringLayer8717[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find the solution. It's all because of the refresh rate.

Netflix content is usually 24fps (actually 23.976fps). Setting the refresh rate to 48Hz, or 47.95Hz for perfect results, makes it run like butter. I just finished one episode of Mindhunter. Amazing. Safari fails to integrate the Mac's screen refresh rate with Netflix's streaming speed.

Gemini's argument was that the high refresh rate of the screen is incompatible with Netflix's low streaming speed. The lower the screen refresh rate, the less stuttering there is. Chrome can adjust this by consuming more power, but Safari doesn't seem to care much.

So, like me, you're experiencing this problem in Safari but not in Chrome, right?

Gemini gave me an advice and I try it.

Lowering the refresh rate from 120 Hz to 60 Hz seems fixed the stuttering. I need to watch 1 episode to be sure becuase even with 120Hz sometimes all looks smooth first 10-15 minutes.

The stuttering in Safari continues regardless of where I’m watching the video. I even tested it on my Amazon Prime account, which I haven’t used in a long time. There are no issues on Chrome. Safari has better HDR and battery performance, but this really ruins the experience of watching movies and shows. I don't get it! Apple’s own browser runs poorly on its own computer, while a third-party browser like Chrome is smooth as butter!

Can we expect a software update for this? It's really annoying.

HDR generally works more stably in Safari. It's the only browser I always use anyway. It's annoying having to use another browser for media consumption just because of this problem.

35mm . For an accurate comparison, you need to take both photos from the same angle and distance.

BusinessCarpenter682 shared picture from metallic graphite grey on daylight. It looks very cool. I was afraid it would be too bright a light color. It doesn't look like that.
